Photo: Mytour / Tyler RoelandWhen I moved into my new apartment four months ago, keeping everything organized became an ongoing challenge. Initially, I bought the essentials like utensil holders, command hooks, shoe racks, and pantry organizers. But after a few weeks, I realized my closets were not being used effectively, so I picked up storage bins and hangers in bulk. But in the past two weeks, the areas I kept postponing became so overwhelming that I ended up going on a massive shopping spree at my go-to retailers (Amazon and Target, of course) and curated one of the largest carts I’ve put together in months in an effort to bring order to my home. The result? My home and my mental health feel so much better.
I finally tackled the haphazard way my home gym gear was being stored, the chaotic underwear drawer, and the pantry and entryway closets which were piled high with boxes. With the addition of storage bins, rolling carts, utility shelves, and garment racks, everything in my home now has a proper place. You can shop for them starting at just $8.

CX Four-Tier Heavy Duty Storage Shelving Unit
AmazonI had a storage unit in my basement that wasn’t being used to its full potential. To make room for my boxes of towels, sheets, off-season clothing, and luggage, I decided to move them downstairs and grabbed this shelving unit to organize everything in one place, clearing out my packed entryway closet. It took under 10 minutes to set up and holds up to 200 pounds, which is about the same as eight 27-gallon boxes.
Brightroom Large Y-Weave Decorative Storage Basket
TargetThese storage baskets have been incredibly useful for organizing paper goods in my pantry, kitchen linens, yoga blocks and resistance bands, cat supplies, and more. I picked up several of the $8 baskets and placed them in any area of my home where I needed extra storage. They’ve turned out to be the best all-purpose organizers I’ve ever bought, and I’m already planning to get a few more to store my winter accessories like hats and mittens.
Brightroom Three-Drawer Medium Cart
TargetThis three-drawer rolling cart solved a surprising storage issue that was at the root of my organization struggles: my cleaning device attachments. The small parts that come with electric spin scrubbers, steam cleaners, and handheld vacuums are often easy to misplace and hard to store. Initially, I kept each attachment in its original box on the floor of my pantry, but with this cart, I now have a dedicated, easy-to-access space for them while freeing up room in my closet. I also store all my reusable grocery bags in the cart.
My home finally got the refresh it needed with these smart and budget-friendly organizers. Keep scrolling below to shop some of my favorite items like weight racks, garment bags, cable clips, and more.
