As someone who loves all things beauty, I spent the past few humid months trying out a range of makeup products, hoping they’d survive a scorching 95-degree day without stripping away the moisture from my face. I wish I could say my dry skin gets a break during the summer, but unfortunately, that's not the case. I rely on my humidifier regularly and adjust my skincare routine with the changing seasons. Still, my skin always feels parched. While it may seem counterproductive to layer hydrating products during a heatwave, I've found that some of the products I tested actually performed impressively well.
After testing over 30 makeup products recently, I’ve added seven to my permanent summer makeup routine. These products worked so well that I even convinced my friends, who face similar skin concerns, to grab them too. Now, my fellow dry skin friends no longer need to dread summer thanks to these melt-proof formulas.

Nars Light Reflecting Hydrating Primer

I totally understand your skepticism because I had the same initial thought: Can a hydrating primer really survive the sweltering summer heat? What I love about this formula, aside from its hydrating hyaluronic acid, reparative cacao peptides, and protective moringa seed, is how it instantly delivers moisture to my perpetually dry skin. Yet, it never feels oily. The radiant glow it provides makes the perfect base under a matte foundation, ensuring its lasting power.
Tirtir Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation

If you’ve seen this red compact on your TikTok FYP (For You Page), then you’re probably already familiar with all the buzz surrounding this top-selling cushion foundation. I can’t speak to the 72-hour wear claim, but I’ve worn this on several long 12-hour days for events, festivals, and errands. I was amazed at how fresh the Tirtir cushion foundation looked throughout the day. The semi-matte finish is smooth but still manages to keep my face looking lively, not flat.
Milani Cheek Kiss Cream Bronzer

This buildable matte bronzer is a must-have all year long. The creamy formula sets without budging and looks just as stunning as other bronzers I’ve tried that cost three times as much. Whether I apply it with a brush, sponge, or my fingers, it always looks flawless. Plus, it’s packed with nourishing ingredients like vitamin E and oils from watermelon seed, Bulgarian rose, and pomegranate seed.
Morphe Huephoric Rush Three-in-One Silk Blush

From the stunning color payoff to the pore-blurring effect, this new cream blush from Morphe has quickly become my favorite, surpassing all the other blushes in my makeup collection. Packed with skin-loving ingredients like collagen, vitamin E, and bamboo extract, it still manages to offer an impressively long-wearing formula. I apply it with a sponge to the apples of my cheeks, and I don’t have to worry about it fading throughout the day. With primer-like benefits, I sometimes wear it on its own too.
Make Beauty Liquid Line Felt-Tip Waterproof Eyeliner

I hardly ever leave the house without a sharp cat-eye, and lately, I’ve been achieving it with these smudge-proof liners. The brand was kind enough to send me the full Liquid Line collection to try, and I've been using them exclusively. While I found it a little tricky to get a solid line with the lighter shades, the darker ones are incredible. Just one quick flick, and I’m ready to go.
Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder

Huda Beauty's legendary Easy Bake Powder is my secret to achieving a flawless, blurred effect on my skin. Although marketed as a baking makeup product, I lightly apply it across my face, focusing on my T-zone which tends to get oily. It smooths everything and never feels drying on my skin. I can skip the mid-day blotting, as it effortlessly absorbs any excess oil. The powder comes in 10 shades, and I use the Peach Pie shade, which offers a subtle brightening effect.
E.L.F. Cosmetics Stay All Night Micro-Fine Setting Mist

I rely on a setting spray during those humid days when rain unexpectedly hits here in Cincinnati. This spray is often in my tote bag, ready for a refreshing spritz when needed. The nozzle is impressively fine, so it doesn’t feel like I’m soaking myself with every spray. As the last step in my makeup routine, I spritz it all over my face and use a sponge to press it into my skin. I've noticed that this method helps my makeup stay in place without any touch-ups.
