Hey there, parents (or future parents)! Iâm Heather, and as I write this, my son is 2.5 years old and my daughter is 6 months old. Iâm currently living the parenthood journey, and many of these items Iâve personally used. Iâm happy to share what has worked for my family, but remember, every baby is unique! What worked for me might not work for you, but hey, itâs definitely worth trying, right?

6. A Skip Hop Baby Activity Center that grows with your little one, making it both a worthwhile investment and a space-saver in your home. I'll be honest, even after experiencing pregnancy and childbirth, I just can't handle the snot sucker. I end up gagging and need to leave the room whenever my husband uses it on our son. That said, it works exactly as intended â just like all the other tools in this kit! I wouldn't survive without the SnipperClipper! This set is truly a must-have for every parent.
Promising review: "Iâve bought this kit twice as gifts for baby showers and I absolutely love it! I only wish these products were available together when I had my kids â it's so convenient, and Iâve used every item in the kit countless times. Worth every penny!" âTess

13. Bumkins washable bibs thatâll turn mealtime into a fashion statement (hehe), while also keeping your babyâs clothes clean from those messy food stains.

14. A set of spill-proof Munchkin snack catchers that allow your little one to grab a quick treat without making a mess on the floor or carpet.

23. You'll want an apple corer and slicer to effortlessly create 16 perfectly snackable apple slices with just one simple pushâan essential for anyone who loves apples!

24. The Baby Shusher might seem like an unnecessary purchaseâafter all, it's a sound machine that imitates a noise you can make yourself. But when it's 2 a.m. and you're beyond exhausted, you'll be grateful for this little helper that saves you from constantly whispering 'shhh'.

25. Get a set of silicone pouch lids that are compatible with nearly every pouch youâve boughtâyes, even that one particular brand your child insists on eating. Plus, the no-spill valve is a total lifesaver when your little one is snacking in the car.

26. The OXO wipes dispenser is an absolute must for every parentâs diaper bag. Itâs a game-changerâway more convenient than lugging around a bulky pack of wipes. Just load it up with wipes, and youâre good to go.

30. This budget-friendly baby gate uses a pressure mount, sparing you from the hassle of drilling holes in your walls (a major plus!). Itâs simple to install and designed for adults to easily open with one handâdefinitely handy when you're trying to carry your toddler and open the gate at the same time.

35. A high-density foam guard to protect your little one from potential bumps and bruises. It softens the sharp edges of your coffee table, the hard wooden backboard of your changing table your child often bangs their head on, and any other furniture piece in your home that could pose a danger to your baby.

36. Magnetic locks that are easy to install without any need for a handymanâsimply stick them in place and use a provided magnet to lock or unlock your cabinets as needed. It's that simple.

41. Alternatively, a pack of wind-up turtle toys that "swim" across the tub (much faster than you'd think for turtles!) and will have your little one laughing with joy. If theyâre too young to wind the toys themselves, you might spend the entire bath time winding them up and watching them go again and again.

42. A Toniebox Audio Player Starter Set, a small stereo system that toddlers can easily operate by swapping out magnetic characters placed on top. Each figure tells different stories and sings various songs, making it a fun, screen-free way to entertain your child.

A Nugget couch with four modular pieces that kids can rearrange into various shapes and structures like a rocket ship, ramp, or castleâperfect for imaginative play (and maybe even a nap!).

I have one of these for my *very* energetic son and Iâm excited to see it in action. Every parent I know recommends it, so if your home has the space, I highly suggest ordering one. The cushion covers are machine washable (a must for anything a child will be lounging on), and there are SO many colors available, so youâre sure to find the perfect match for your decor. When my sister comes over, she arranges all the pieces and uses it as a bedâitâs that comfortable!
Promising review: "What an amazing product! Itâs the perfect addition to our sonâs room, as it doubles as furniture, fort-building blocks, and even an extra bed for sleepovers. We love our Nugget!" âKristen N.
Get it from Nugget for $249 (available in 18 styles).
46. A shopping cart cover to keep your little one shielded from the germs lurking on the cartâdefinitely a good idea, plus itâll stop them from, literally, chewing on the cart itself (babies are wild).

47. A BabyBjörn bouncer, perfect for your little one whoâs eager to sit up, letting them observe the room, watch some Ms. Rachel on YouTube, or bounce to their heartâs desire (really, whatever keeps them happy).

The BabyBjörn bouncer was a purchase I made for myself when my son (pictured on the left) was desperate to sit up but wasn't quite there yet. Weâd settle him into this bouncer, and he would be absolutely thrilled to sit for a while, watching my husband prepare his morning espresso (haha) or joyfully rewatching Encanto for the hundredth time (don't judge my screen time choices). Honestly, he was just so happy being upright!
Now my 6-month-old daughter (pictured on the right) uses it as well! We attach toys to hers to keep her entertained long enough for us to grab a quick bite. She's a bit more energetic than my son was at her age and LOVES bouncing aggressively in it.
The bouncer easily folds up, making it simple to toss in the car and take to someone else's house. Both of my kids adored this thing, and I would absolutely recommend it to any parent who needs a handy seat.
Promising review: "From the moment I placed him in the seat, he was calm and content. It's very well made, portable from room to room, and the cover is machine washable. The design is simple yet brilliant. You can secure him with just one hand, making it super easy to get him in and out. He's four months old now and is starting to learn how to make it bounce. The cover is sturdy canvas and soft. The seams are durable. Itâs completely silent while he bounces. Now I have a few moments to get things done around the house while my little guy is happily seated in his safe, comfortable spot. Highly recommend!" âZuya
Find it on Amazon for $209.99 (available in 12 styles).
48. An iconic Sophie the Giraffe teether your little one will, for reasons unknown, probably adore and chew on as those first teeth painfully start to emerge.

49. A Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Musical Toy that will captivate your fussy little one with delightful tunes from Mozart, Vivaldi, and more, all accompanied by dazzling lights and sounds.

50. A Bugaboo Butterfly stroller designed for traveling families â it's stylish, incredibly compact, and features a roomy storage compartment despite its smaller frame.

I absolutely love this Bugaboo stroller. Itâs super lightweight (only 16 pounds) and opens/closes effortlessly. You just press two buttons and it unfolds like magic. My husband and I were amazed at how simple it was to set up and how compact it gets when folded. Iâd recommend the Butterfly to anyone living in a city or with limited space at home.
It comes with a strap, so you can throw it over your shoulder and carry it â perfect for traveling or just moving it from the car. I took my son to visit my parents in North Carolina, and it fit in the overhead compartment with no issue. The wheels handle bumps and debris like a champ. Heâs now 2.5 (and we have a second child!) and we still use it all the time for errands or quick trips instead of our larger stroller. Overall, it's been an excellent stroller, and I recommend it to any parent or parents-to-be that I meet.
Get it from Bugaboo or Amazon $479 (available in five colors).
51. And a mason jar cold brew maker, because if your kids are anything like mine, you haven't had a good night's sleep in what feels like forever. Reviewers rave about this version, and many also use it to brew their favorite iced teas. Cheers!
