Bug zappers are definitely suitable for indoor use, and that's actually one of their primary purposes. While chemical-based bug zappers, which attract insects with dangerous chemicals, are mainly used outdoors to keep children and pets safe, those that use ultraviolet light are energy-efficient, discreet (aside from the occasional electric crackle), and versatile enough for both indoor and outdoor settings. These zappers come in various designs, some resembling lanterns or heaters, and they can be powered by batteries or plugged into an outlet. Many models also include a removable tray to collect the remnants of zapped bugs, which should be disposed of regularly.
Other types of bug zappers include handheld models, which resemble plastic tennis rackets. These portable devices can be used both indoors and outdoors, making them perfect for outdoor hikes or for clearing your bedroom of mosquitoes before bedtime. Rechargeable handheld zappers should be powered up every other week to maintain their optimal performance. It includes an octenol mosquito attractant and uses a vacuum to draw bugs into a sealed chamber from which they can't escape. It consumes only a small amount of electricity daily and operates quietly on a desk or shelf while efficiently getting rid of bugs. As with all bug zappers, it should be kept away from water.
