If you’ve purchased a domain from Network Solutions, Register.com, or Web.com, it's crucial to update your password immediately. These domain registrars reported a data breach in August 2019.
In a notification sent to customers, the companies revealed that they discovered the breach in October 2019. While credit card details weren’t affected, personal information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and order histories may have been exposed.
Web.com owns both Network Solutions and Register.com. A representative from Web.com assured Krebs on Security this week that passwords are encrypted and are not believed to have been compromised in the breach.
For added security, all customers are required to reset their passwords. Network Solutions sent an email informing that 'affected customers' are being contacted through email and via their website.
