We’ve already covered how to choose the best plants for your office and your bathroom at home. Now, here are a few important factors to think about when selecting the right plants for your garden.
Typically, you should think about the time commitment and maintenance required. To help assess this, Apartment Therapy recommends asking the following questions:
How well do perennial plants tolerate your climate zone? Are they short-lived and will they need replacing in just a couple of years?
How frequently will the plants require watering, and do you have the ability to set up an automatic irrigation system if necessary?
Do the plants need regular pruning, deadheading, or support like trellises throughout the growing season?
Are the plants prone to pests or diseases, and if so, are there alternative varieties bred to prevent these issues?
Ideally, your responses will provide a clear understanding of the time and maintenance needed. For additional guidance on selecting the right plant, check out their full article below.
