Navigate the waters and sketch your speedboat with ease using our simple guide. Follow the instructions provided to get started.
In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the steps to draw the speedboat featured above. You can either draw it directly from your screen or print out this page for a closer view of each stage.
Each illustration highlights the red lines that show exactly what to draw in each step. The previous steps are indicated in gray. We’ll provide a visual for each step along with a clear description of how to create it.
Excited to begin? Awesome! Move on to the next page to kick off with the first step.
1. Sketch the Hull

Begin by outlining the sharp, main shape of the boat. Don't forget to include a wedge-shaped windshield.
Flip to the next page to learn how to add more detail to the hull.
2. Add Details to the Hull

Draw three long rectangles running from the front to the back along the side of the boat.
In the upcoming step, we'll work on adding the windows and motor details.
3. Add Windows and a Motor

Draw a triangle and two rectangles for the windows within the wedge shape. At the rear of the boat, sketch curved shapes for the top part of the outboard motor.
What’s a boat without some water? We’ll solve that problem in the next step.
4. Draw the Water

Create wavy lines for the water and add a foamy wake trailing behind the boat.
We'll put the finishing touches on your drawing in the next step.
5. Add the Finishing Touches

Use a fine-tipped pen to carefully trace the lines you wish to keep. Erase any unwanted pencil marks.
In our next project, you’ll be able to patrol the seas and safeguard the waters. Keep reading to learn how to draw a navy ship.
