
This year, I've committed to meditating more, which has led me to explore a variety of online meditation tools, particularly the free options available.
I recently discovered an Alexa skill that has become one of my favorites: Mindful Meditation.
This free tool offers five different meditations, with durations ranging from three to twenty minutes. The best part? It uses a real instructor's voice instead of Alexa's robotic tone.
Here are the meditation options available:
Three-minute mindfulness meditation focusing on breath
Four-minute body scan to enhance body awareness
Five-minute tension-relieving meditation
Ten-minute meditation to tap into inner wisdom
Twenty-minute comprehensive meditation that explores bodily sensations, sounds, breathing, emotions, and more
To start, simply enable the skill on your Alexa device. Then, you can say “Alexa, open Mindful Meditation” and follow the instructions to select your preferred meditation, or you can say “Alexa, open a 10-minute meditation” to directly begin the one you wish to try.
I find these meditations enjoyable enough that I don’t mind repeating the same prompt, which is something I can’t say for many other meditation options I’ve tested.
