That’s perfectly fine. I encourage people to dream big and vocalize their desires. When you confidently say, 'I want this, I deserve it, and I’m ready to work for it,' you pave the way for achieving those dreams.

We’re constantly torn between two opposing forces: one urging us to save every penny for decades, and the other pushing us to indulge in life’s pleasures—like a trip to Tahiti, a luxurious cashmere sweater, or treating friends to drinks or lattes. Unsurprisingly, the latter often wins, leading to overspending. This is a major reason why many Americans struggle with debt. A lack of financial education exacerbates the problem over time. Instead of suppressing our desires, we should acknowledge them. My approach is simple: spend lavishly on what you love, but be ruthless in cutting expenses on things that don’t matter to you.
