This year, the Mytour editors joined forces with an incredible team of designers, professional organizers, architects, and developers to transform an 1890s brownstone in the vibrant Crown Heights area of Brooklyn. Meet the creative minds behind this stunning renovation and décor project that brought the home to life.
Amber GuytonAmber Guyton
Amber Guyton is the owner of Blessed Little Bungalow, an interior design firm based in Atlanta. As a designer, content creator, influencer, product curator, and most recently, a wallpaper designer, Amber has shared her design journey, DIY projects, and decorating advice in well-known publications like HGTV Magazine, House Beautiful, Domino, and many more. She is dedicated to making interior design accessible to everyone and believes it shouldn’t be an exclusive luxury.
Brooklyn GrangeBrooklyn Grange
Brooklyn Grange is a Brooklyn-based company focused on enhancing the livability and climate resilience of cities. Founded in 2010, it has grown into the leading soil-based rooftop farming company in the U.S. With over 300,000 square feet of rooftop farms in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Staten Island, they are revolutionizing urban agriculture. Co-founder and CEO Ben Flanner, Director of Design Build Michelle Cashen, and Lead Landscape Designer Travers Martin will be leading the redesign of the Mytour Home backyard this year.
Brownstone BoysThe Brownstone Boys (Barry Bordelon and Jordan Slocum)
Jordan Slocum and Barry Bordelon, also known as The Brownstone Boys, are Brooklyn-based interior designers, authors, DIY enthusiasts, and passionate advocates for old homes. They specialize in designing spaces that blend historical character with sleek, contemporary style. Their work has been featured in HGTV, Architectural Digest, and on shows like Good Morning America and Magnolia Network. Their debut book, For the Love of Renovating, was released in June 2024.
Jessica DavisJessica Davis
Jessica Davis is the founder of the Atlanta-based design studio Atelier Davis and serves as the creative director for the luxury hardware brand Nest Studio. With a background in art history and interior design, her spaces are inspired by a blend of historic and modern art, architecture, and her Chinese-American roots. Her global perspective is shaped by her travels and experiences living in Asia, Australia, and the United States. She is a founding member of the Asian American Pacific Islander Design Alliance, and her work aims to raise visibility for the AAPI design community.
The Neat MethodThe Neat Method
Ashley Murphy and Marissa Hagmeyer launched NEAT Method in 2010, bringing a modern twist to the home organization industry. Initially offering services in San Francisco, they quickly expanded and now have locations across the U.S. Today, they are a lifestyle service brand with 95 locations nationwide and a line of organizing products for the entire home. Murphy resides in Chicago with her husband, two children, and their dog, Scully, while Marissa lives in Colorado with her husband and two kids.
Kate PearceKate Pearce
Kate Pearce is an interior designer and blogger based in Evanston, IL. Along with her husband, she has been restoring historic homes since 2016 and documenting their journey on Instagram, which has garnered a dedicated following. Her own home, built in 1899, is just a few years older than our Mytour Home! Before diving into the world of blogging, she spent time working in curation at New York City museums and developed a passion for thrifting, vintage treasures, and DIY projects.
Hema PersadHema Persad
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Hema Persad was once a practicing attorney before she made the bold decision to leave law behind and follow her passion for fashion. In 2014, she moved to Los Angeles, where she dressed A-list celebrities and styled high-profile ad campaigns. In 2021, she transitioned into interior design, and in 2022, she founded her own studio, Sagrada Studio. Hema now creates beautiful residential and commercial spaces across the country. She loves exploring L.A., traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and daughters.
Jasmine RothJasmine Roth
You might recognize Jasmine Roth as the charismatic host of HGTV's popular shows Hidden Potential and HELP! I Wrecked My House. Beyond her TV roles, she's the founder of Built Custom Homes, the curator of The Shop by Jasmine Roth, and the author of House Story: Insider Secrets to the Perfect Home Renovation. Specializing in making homes both personal and functional, Jasmine strives to create spaces that are as beautiful as they are practical. When not designing or hosting, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband, Brett, and their daughter, Hazel Lynn, in Huntington Beach, CA, and Park City, UT.
Mikel WelchMikel Welch
Mikel Welch is an interior designer and lifestyle expert whose love for design started in his childhood when he built houses with Legos. Now, he leads the New York-based studio, Mikel Welch Design, and appears as a host and expert on Netflix's Hack My Home while also contributing to The Drew Barrymore Show. Mikel is known for offering renovation tips and ways to achieve luxurious looks on a budget. In 2020, he earned a spot on House Beautiful's NEXT WAVE designers list and has designed green rooms for high-profile figures like Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Halle Berry.
AlexAllen StudioAlexAllen Studio, founded by architects Alexandra Burr and Allen Slamic, is a creative design hub located in Gowanus. The studio has been shaping the architecture, lighting, and furniture design scenes since its inception in 2011. Known for their focus on balance, proportion, and refinement, they continuously push boundaries by integrating new manufacturing techniques and sustainable practices into their designs.
In 2011, architects Alexandra Burr and Allen Slamic established AlexAllen Studio, an innovative studio specializing in architecture, lighting, and furniture design. With a design ethos grounded in balance, proportion, and refinement, the studio constantly seeks new methods and technologies to enhance sustainability and efficiency in their creations.
Adam Dahill is a prominent figure in the world of home development, best known for his groundbreaking work on Mytour Home 2024.Adam Dahill, a forward-thinking developer, is at the helm of the Mytour Home 2024 initiative, where his expertise shapes the future of residential design.
With over two decades of experience in mortgage banking, Adam Dahill currently serves as a Mortgage Sales Manager at Citizens Bank in New York City. Having lived in the 2024 Mytour Home for several years, Adam decided in 2015 to purchase his first development property. Since then, he has successfully completed six renovations and restorations, with the Mytour Home being his seventh project. Adam resides in Brooklyn with his wife and two daughters.
