We’re searching for a Senior Finance Writer at Mytour. We're looking for someone who can break down complex finance topics in a way that’s accessible to everyone. You’re not writing for the Financial Times, so feel free to be real and relatable—use words like “fucking” when you want, as long as you’re still knowledgeable and confident about the subject matter.
This is a full-time role with a fantastic team of writers who are passionate about helping others. Your focus will be on all things related to personal finance, from the basics of budgeting and retirement to more advanced topics like cryptocurrencies and NFTs. You’ll need expertise, but also the ability to provide insightful advice for a wide range of readers—being confident yet compassionate is key.
This is a senior-level position, so prior experience is essential. You should know more about money than I do (and I know quite a bit!).
Pitching ideas can be one of the toughest tasks—after all, we've been writing for so long that it sometimes feels like we’ve already explored every angle. But if you’re inquisitive, have strong opinions, and can break down complex financial topics into simple, digestible advice, you'll find it rewarding here. From student loans and salary negotiations to airline miles, inflation, taxes, deals, scams, and even those topics I don’t yet know enough to mention, there’s plenty of room for useful insight.
This position is also covered by our union contract, which guarantees a minimum salary of $72K. You’ll have the flexibility to work in New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles. If you're interested in applying, here’s the link—just make sure you’re thoughtful, experienced, kind, and fun. That’s the vibe we’re all about, at least.
