We all know the feeling of a tough workout—your limbs feel like they’re about to give out, and even the lightest weights seem heavier than they are. Dan John, a renowned strength coach and author, reassures us that this is completely normal, and in fact, it happens more often than you might think.
Having a bad workout is entirely natural, and the key is to accept it. Dan John explains that once you do, it won’t feel as overwhelming.
Out of five workouts, I often have one that feels amazing—like I could be on the verge of becoming an Olympic athlete or the next Mr. Olympia. Then, there’s the one that’s so brutal, I wonder how I’m still standing. The other three are your typical ‘punch the clock’ sessions: just going through the motions. It’s something most of us experience.
The worst mistake you can make is overthinking your workout. It could be anything from poor sleep to stress or just randomness. Don’t let one bad session affect the rest of your progress. For more tips on how to handle a tough day, check out the link below.
