Devotees of the Alien series can now channel Ellen Ripley's style with two re-released editions of the Seiko watch she sported in the 1986 blockbuster, Aliens.
During the early 1980s, the Japanese watch brand teamed up with an Italian designer, known for his work on the Volkswagen Passat and DeLorean DMC-12, to create a line of innovative timepieces. Among these was the Seiko Giugiaro 7A28-7000, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro in 1983. This model, along with other Seiko watches, made its way into James Cameron's sci-fi epic, prominently featured on Ripley's wrist during her climactic battle with the Queen alien while maneuvering the Power Loader.
As reported by Gizmodo, original versions of the watch occasionally surface on platforms like eBay, fetching prices around $1000. However, enthusiasts now have the chance to secure the limited-edition reissues directly from Seiko's Japanese online store or through global resellers on eBay once stocks run out.

The reissued Seiko X Giugiaro Design Spirit Smart SCED035 and SCED037 watches come in black and stainless steel, with only 3000 units available for each style, priced at $260. While these models omit the crown and buttons on the left side of the case, they remain faithful to the iconic '80s aesthetic.
