If you're all about saving, your wallet might already contain a few rewards credit cards. You might also use cashback sites like eBates. When shopping online, it's a smart move to stack your discounts and choose the card that gives you the highest cashback. Pick2Pay automatically selects the best card for you and combines your rewards and discounts seamlessly.
Pick2Pay is an app and extension designed for online shoppers who want to make the most of cashback rewards and discounts. Simply input the names of your credit cards into the app—no personal details required—just the card names. After that, search for an online store, and Pick2Pay will display the following options:
The card in your wallet that provides the highest rewards at that particular store
Available "shopping portal discounts," which are offers from sites that provide discounts when you make purchases through them (like UPromise, eBates, SwagBucks, etc.)
-
Any online discount gift cards for that store
The app then presents several money-saving combinations. Choose the one that suits you best, and it will guide you through the process. For example, if I want to shop at the Gap, I can search for Gap.com on Pick2Pay, then select a preferred savings combo.
I didn’t feel like using an e-Gift card, so I chose the second option: paying with my Chase card and going through a shopping portal (in this case, Chase’s Rewards site). I selected this choice, and Pick2Pay guided me to the rewards site, where I found the Gap store. After clicking through, I used my Chase card to pay, saving three percent in total.
In this example, the savings aren’t massive. However, the app is very easy to use and doesn’t require much time. Even if it only saves a few dollars, it’s still worth it.
Pick2Pay has been available as both a web and iOS app. Recently, developer Srikanth Deshpande launched a Chrome extension, making the process even more convenient. He explained to us:
The Chrome extension provides a drop-down feature that suggests the best card in your wallet for the online store you're shopping at, recommends the top shopping portal, and even finds discounted e-gift cards as you browse the store.
Additionally, you don’t need to register to use Pick2Pay. Registering will store your wallet information, but Deshpande mentioned that the extension saves your details until your cookies are cleared. You can review their privacy policy here. Deshpande summed it up:
To put it simply, we take your privacy seriously and never spam or share your email address. We use it solely to send you more savings over time.
Pick2Pay is completely free, and Deshpande explained that the app generates revenue through referrals. However, he emphasized that "our algorithms are designed to prioritize the best savings for the consumer." From my own experience, I found the results to be relevant and not spammy.
I found the app particularly useful if you own multiple rewards credit cards. Each rewards program offers different cashback bonuses at various stores. Instead of trying to track all your savings options, simply add your cards to Pick2Pay, and it will find the best rewards option for you.
If you're into the idea of automating your frugality, the extension is definitely worth exploring.
