Good news for doughnut lovers who are at least partially vaccinated! Krispy Kreme is enhancing their free doughnut offer, now giving out two doughnuts to anyone who has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5.
That’s correct, the “Show Your Heart” campaign is offering a double portion of doughnuts—an Original Glazed and an Original Glazed Heart—designed to encourage those who haven't been vaccinated to get at least one shot, or ideally both.
“Show Your Heart” is Krispy Kreme’s latest contribution to help the nation tackle the pandemic.
Krispy Kreme
became the first national brand to support vaccination efforts in March by offering a free Original Glazed doughnut—available anytime, any day—to customers who show a valid COVID-19 vaccination card at any
Krispy Kreme
location across the U.S. throughout 2021.
To date,
Krispy Kreme
has given away over 2.5 million Original Glazed doughnuts through this initiative. In 2020, Krispy Kreme generously distributed over 30 million free doughnuts to healthcare workers, teachers, graduating seniors, and others in need.
We all hoped we’d be nearing the end of this pandemic by now. We’re not. So, if you haven’t gotten vaccinated yet, please consider doing so. Then, enjoy two amazing doughnuts with our heartfelt thanks,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer.
It’s simple: show your vaccination card, and you’ll receive two delicious glazed doughnuts (the best kind). Return the next day with your card, and get two more doughnuts! Keep coming back each day between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5, and you’ll collect 14 free doughnuts. (The offer doesn’t end on Sept. 5—you can still get one free doughnut per day by showing your vaccine card until the year’s end.)
I’m not sure free doughnuts will be enough to sway die-hard anti-vaxxers, but for everyone else, it’s a nice reward for those who did their civic duty and got vaccinated. Eating two doughnuts daily for a week might not be the healthiest, but remember, Krispy Kreme is offering this as an option, not a requirement. So, please, let’s avoid clogging up the comment section with tired, predictable arguments. Don’t turn down a free doughnut, is what I’m saying.
(And don’t forget to leave a tip. The doughnuts may be free, but the workers who make them still deserve a little extra appreciation, especially during a pandemic.)
