My favorite upgrade is the combination of dark mode (black background with white text) and warm light, making nighttime reading comfortable without disturbing others or exposing your eyes to blue light.
The addition of an IPX8 waterproof rating is a standout feature, though I’ve yet to use it myself (it’s reassuring to have, nonetheless). The Bluetooth capability for audiobooks is another excellent addition, allowing you to pair headphones and enjoy audiobooks, though I haven’t utilized it much.

This model is more affordable because Amazon introduced the 12th-gen Paperwhite earlier this year, currently priced at $159.99. The newer version boasts a larger screen, extended battery life, and enhanced performance, as highlighted in CNET's review. However, if saving money for more books is your priority, the 11th-gen Paperwhite remains a reliable e-reader choice in 2024.
