While some restaurants offer decent discounts for children, others take it a step further by offering free meals on specific days. U.S. News and World Report highlights a few of these options.
Naturally, most of these are chain restaurants, so don’t expect your local mom-and-pop diner to be included.
IHOP stands out as the only restaurant on the list that offers free meals every night of the week. The menu mainly features breakfast items, which fits, since it’s IHOP. This offer is available daily from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Other eateries on the list include:
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit: Kids enjoy a free meal on Sundays, with options like chicken nuggets, a sandwich, or a meat plate, but only with the purchase of an adult entrée.
IKEA: Kids eat free all day Tuesday with the purchase of an adult entrée. The limit is two free kids' meals per transaction.
Applebee’s: As reported by U.S. News, kids eat free on select nights, though the details differ by location. Applebee’s doesn’t promote this on their website, so you'll need to check with your local branch, but many report that it’s valid on Tuesday evenings.
Similar to Applebee's, other chain restaurants like TGI Friday’s and Pizza Hut also offer kids-eat-free nights, although the specifics depend on the location. For the full list of participating restaurants, check out their article at the link below.
