Why not earn rewards while spending? I’ve never been a fan of scanning receipts or navigating through shopping portals to earn points. That’s why I love using Shopkick—it makes earning rewards so much easier.
Some “frugal” habits just aren’t worth the effort, and reward shopping has always fit that description for me. Whether it’s through an app or a shopping portal, there’s often extra work involved.
Credit card rewards are the exception to this rule: you just swipe and collect points. Shopkick works similarly—by linking your credit cards to the app, you earn points whenever you shop at partnered retailers like T.J. Maxx, eBay, Hotels.com, Apple, and more.
I’ve been using Shopkick for a few years, and I barely think about it. Sometimes I forget about it for months, only to open the app on a random day and find 2,500 points (or ‘Kicks’), enough for a $10 gift card. It’s not much, but the best part is that it takes no effort, making it a pleasant surprise.
If you’re willing to put in a little extra effort, you can earn points by checking in or scanning specific items. As for your security, once you link your credit card, Shopkick doesn’t store your card details. According to the site:
When we designed the linked card feature, security was our top priority—Shopkick does not store or show your credit card details, so your information cannot be lost or stolen. All data is securely stored with Visa or MasterCard, not Shopkick. The safety and privacy of our users is our highest concern... You can unlink your card anytime with just one click. If your account remains inactive for a long period, your credit card will be automatically unlinked.
