For today's throwback workout, we’re revisiting a classic from 2011 when Mytour introduced its unique fitness program on the now-discontinued Fleetly platform. It featured four weekly workouts tailored to your goals, and today, we're doing one of them: the deck of cards workout.
This workout is exactly as it sounds. Each suit represents a different exercise, and you work your way through the deck with the card values determining the number of reps. (You can decide what the face cards mean; I chose 10 reps.)
Hearts: Jumping jacks (for some cardio, of course!)
Diamonds: Chair dips
Clubs: Knee-to-elbow plank
Spades: Lunges
I needed a quick workout, so I shuffled my deck and set a 10-minute timer. I managed to get through around 42 cards, so feel free to go through the deck multiple times if you want to extend the session.
I really enjoyed this workout, especially since many of the sets were short. Two lunges? No problem! That gives me a few seconds to move from the deck to the lunges spot, then back to flip another card. It’s like a built-in rest.
Another plus was that nothing required more than ten reps. Overall, I thought it was a great workout—only the chair dips were slightly tough (next time, I might limit face cards to 5 reps), but everything else was pretty balanced. You can easily adjust it by adding rest periods or swapping exercises you find too challenging or too easy. Give it a try and let us know what you think—does it hold up?
