For those who cringe at the idea of slipping into high heels, there’s exciting news. Sara Blakely, the visionary behind the billion-dollar shapewear brand Spanx, has launched a groundbreaking creation designed to redefine our experience with heels—perfect for fans of this unique style.
Sneex, Blakely’s latest luxury footwear collection, merges the comfort of sneakers with the elegance of heels, ensuring you no longer have to endure aching feet after hours of wear. Dubbed “hy-heels,” these three-inch hybrids blend “the sophistication of classic heels with the support and ease of sneakers,” as stated in the official announcement.
Blakely crafted these shoes to tackle the three primary discomfort zones caused by conventional heels. To start, she bridged the space between the foot and the shoe’s sole for added stability. Next, she balanced the weight distribution between the forefoot and heel. Finally, she shaped the shoe to align with the natural form of the toes, preventing any squishing.
"There’s been a gap in the market for comfortable footwear, and women deserve better. I aimed to design a luxury heel that focuses on how women feel, not just their appearance,” Blakely stated in the press release. “We’re often told that 'beauty is pain'... but I disagree. As a consumer, I’ve longed to solve this issue for years."
Blakely also aimed to innovate within the elevated comfort sector with this launch. While these hybrid shoes might not suit every outfit, they pair well with premium loungewear sets, effortlessly tailored looks, crop tops with cargo pants, and even dresses.
"Today’s consumers are leaning toward casual dressing," Blakely explains. "While sneakers have become a go-to choice, there are moments when I want the height and elegance of a heel combined with the ease of a sneaker. That’s where the opportunity lies."
These patent-pending luxury heeled sneakers are handcrafted in Spain using premium materials such as Italian mesh, Napa leather, and suede. Available in 10 colors and three styles—The Tepper (single strap), The Blake (double strap), and The Icon (wide strap)—they offer versatility and sophistication.

"You need to experience them firsthand to understand the magic within," Blakely shares. "Women react with tears, dance moves, or even sprinting. They’re amazed it’s a 3-inch heel!"
The hy-heels are priced between $395 and $595 and are available in sizes 5-11 on Sneex.com. The online store also features silk ankle and no-show socks to complement the shoes.
"Sneex is my heartfelt tribute to every woman who’s ever removed her shoes at a party, carried heels in her bag to work, or believed her heel-wearing days were behind her," Blakely expresses on the Sneex website.
