For Starbucks enthusiasts, be ready to pay slightly more for your coffee starting next week. The company will implement a price increase on July 12th.
Starbucks announced this price change after a premature update, which led to some customers being charged higher prices ahead of the official increase. Here's their official statement on the matter:
On July 12, Starbucks will introduce a modest price hike on select drinks. Unfortunately, this price update was mistakenly applied early in our U.S. company-operated stores' point of sale systems, resulting in some customers being overcharged. The maximum amount a customer could have been overcharged is 30 cents per drink.
The error has been rectified, and we deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused. If a customer feels that this mistake affected the price of their drink, we encourage them to reach out to Starbucks Customer Service at 1-800-782-7282 so we can address the issue promptly.
While they haven’t revealed which drinks will see price hikes or the exact amount, based on the previous mistake, we might anticipate an increase of up to 30 cents. Last year, the price increase ranged between 5 and 20 cents.
