You purchase something, and a few days later, it goes on sale. It can be frustrating. However, certain retailers will refund you the price difference. Kiplinger compiled a list of well-known retailers that offer price drop policies.
Kiplinger states:
Usually, these policies require customers to have a receipt showing the original price they paid for an item that has been reduced. Additionally, there is often a limited window after the purchase to claim the refund. To stay on top of price changes, you can set up a price alert through websites like
TrackIf.com
, which monitors over 1.1 million products and sends email notifications when prices drop.
Popular clothing retailers like Anthropologie, Gap, J.Crew, and Macy's offer refunds if an item is discounted within a specific period, usually within 14 days.
Best Buy offers a price match if the item you purchased goes on sale within 15 days. Target and Walmart will lower the price of an item if it is discounted within seven days of your purchase.
It’s also worth mentioning that some credit card companies may reimburse you for a price drop, as long as the purchase was made using that card.
