Full sun perennials need a minimum of six to eight hours of direct sunlight each day. These flowers don't require a spotlight, but they do thrive in bright sunlight for most of the day. Even during the shorter days of spring and fall, they need this exposure. If your garden doesn't get enough sun, think about planting part shade or full shade perennials. Some flowers, like the Japanese Anemone, can grow in both full sun and partial shade. If you're unsure of your light conditions, these plants could be a safe choice.
On this page, we've provided links to full sun perennials, categorized by color and light requirements. Before planting, confirm with your local garden center that the full sun perennials you choose will thrive in your area.
