Target has simplified shopping, making it easier to go in for 'just one thing' and leave with an entire cart of unexpected purchases. Starting today, the retailer has made significant updates to its price match policy. Here's what's changed.
Many retailers have decent price match policies, but until now, Target only matched prices with five stores: Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com, ToysRUs.com, and BabiesRUs.com. Starting October 1, Target will expand the list to include 24 additional stores. Here’s the complete list:
Amazon.com, Babiesrus.com, BedBathBeyond.com, Bestbuy.com, BN.com, Buybuybaby.com, Costco.com, CVS.com, Diapers.com, DicksSportingGoods.com, Drugstore.com, Gamestop.com, JCPenney.com, Kmart.com, Kohls.com, Macys.com, Newegg.com, Officedepot.com, Petco.com, Petsmart.com, Samsclub.com, Sears.com, SportsAuthority.com, Staples.com, Target.com, Toysrus.com, Ulta.com, Walgreens.com, Walmart.com, and Wayfair.com.
Costco and Sam's Club are particularly notable because they require a membership to shop. Additionally, Target has extended its price adjustment period—now customers have 14 days to request an adjustment if they find a lower price elsewhere. Furthermore, items purchased from Target's website are also eligible for price matching.
This is great news for shoppers, as it makes it even simpler to find and secure the best possible price. As we’ve mentioned before, you can use a price matching app like Red Laser to check prices in store, and when shopping online, consider using InvisibleHand.
