Tuition and textbooks are expensive enough, but there are additional costs tied to college that are often overlooked. As the new semester approaches, it's important to consider these 'hidden' expenses of returning to school.
Springleaf Financial has compiled a list of often-overlooked costs that students should factor into their school budgets. For instance, laundry might appear to be a minor expense initially, but it can quickly add up over the course of the semester, especially if you're already on a tight budget.
Many college campuses charge between $3 and $5 per laundry load, not including the cost of detergent. If you're doing two loads a week, that can easily surpass $300 for the semester!
Other expenses worth considering include special project materials, meal plans, and parking. Be sure to check out the full post for more details on each of these costs.
