The most comfortable bras offer a combination of style, support, and, above all, the kind of comfort that lasts throughout the day. "If the first thing you do when you get home is take off your bra, it’s probably the wrong one," says Angela Foster, style coach and bra expert. Whether you're into full-coverage bras or barely there bralettes, there’s definitely a perfect fit that feels amazing.
To find the ultimate in comfort, we tested various bras across different body types. After spending three weeks evaluating these bras for comfort, support, fit, adjustability, quality, and overall value, we turned to three experts for their insights on finding the best-fitting bras: Foster, lingerie fit specialist Annette Bourne, and Jené Luciani Sena, author of The Bra Book.
Top Pick
Cuup Scoop Bra
The fabric is luxuriously smooth, feeling like a second skin beneath your clothes.
The straps are not adjustable to different styles, and tight tops might reveal the shape of your nipples.
The Cuup Scoop Micro Bra provides a perfect combination of comfort and support that we highly recommend. The material is silky smooth, almost like a second skin, and it fits beautifully under various types of clothing, from casual T-shirts to stylish bodysuits. We followed the brand’s size guide, and the fit was spot on for both smaller and larger busts. The thick band stays put without digging into the skin, and the wide straps offer ample support and easy adjustability. Its lightly padded underwire gives subtle support without the discomfort typically associated with underwire bras. While it’s not a push-up bra, it still delivers a gentle lift.
This bra is also incredibly stylish. With its smooth fabric and contoured shape, it has a sleeker appearance compared to other everyday bras. It proved to be impressively durable as well, holding up well after being tossed in the washer and dryer. (However, it’s recommended to wash it gently and lay it flat to dry.) The only flaw is that the straps are non-convertible, meaning it can’t be worn as a racerback. Also, the unlined cups didn’t provide as much nipple coverage for our 38E tester (though it didn’t seem to bother them).
Size Range: 30–44, A–H | Materials: 8% polyamide, 16.5% elastane | Return Policy: 30 days

Editor’s Choice
Natori Understated Bra
Its minimalist design gives it a barely-there feel that’s incredibly comfortable.
It might not offer the best support for those with larger busts.
Along with our own testing, we also surveyed Mytour editors about their favorite bras, and two of them recommended this bra for its incredibly soft, second-skin sensation and sleek, minimalist design.
"I’ve been wearing the Natori Understated Bra nearly every day for the last few years," says associate editorial director Katie Holdefehr. "I always thought I’d never find a bra that I wouldn’t notice I’m wearing, but this one is it! It’s so understated (and comfortable) that you’ll forget you're even wearing it."
One thing to note is that this bra is likely best suited for smaller busts, as it features thin straps and either a one- or two-hook closure. Those with larger busts may require more support, like thicker straps and a stronger closure. Additionally, this bra is currently available in only three basic colors, offering limited options for different skin tones.
A key feature of this bra is its Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, ensuring that every part of the bra has been tested for harmful substances—ideal for those with sensitive skin or anyone who wants to be mindful of what’s in their clothing. Plus, it has a luxurious feel, highlighted by the gold crest at the center. If you’re after a bra that feels like it’s barely there, this Natori style comes highly recommended by editors.

Best Wireless
True & Co. Adjustable Strap Bra
This wireless bra is so comfortable that we accidentally fell asleep in it.
The band lacks a clasp, meaning it’s not adjustable.
Wireless bras are generally known for their comfort, and the True & Co. Soft Form Bra certainly lives up to that reputation. Crafted from a soft, stretchy knit fabric, this bra is free of underwires, making it comfortable enough to wear throughout the day—and even into the night. We were so comfortable in it that we forgot we were wearing it and ended up falling asleep.
This wireless bra is notably supportive, offering surprisingly good hold even when we wore it for a workout instead of switching to a sports bra. Its lightly lined cups provide ample coverage, and the soft, adjustable straps ensure comfort. While the wide band isn’t adjustable, it stretches to contour to your body without pinching. Although the V-neck is not very deep, it can be visible under some low-cut tops, but we still found it versatile enough to wear with various outfits. Even though the bra loosened slightly during testing, it returned to its original shape once washed.
Size Range: XS–3X (30–46, A-D) | Materials: 91% polyamide, 9% elastane | Return Policy: 30 days

Top Bralette Style
Commando Butter Soft Adjustable Bralette with Support
This bralette offers excellent coverage without the use of underwire.
It features a hook closure, which might not suit everyone’s preference for a bralette.
If you believe bralettes are only for lounging at home, the Commando Butter Soft-Support Adjustable Bralette could change that perspective. In our testing, we discovered that it delivers the same level of support and coverage as a traditional bra—without the discomfort of wires or boning. It quickly earned a spot on our list of the best bralettes available. Whether you're sleeping, going out, or simply relaxing, the versatility of this bralette makes it an excellent choice for daily wear.
The band features a back closure, eliminating the need to pull your bralette over your head. Additionally, its slim elastic band ensures a secure fit, no matter how much you move. Despite the common belief that bralettes are less supportive for larger busts, the gentle compression and seamless cups of this bralette felt exceptionally secure and comfortable. Plus, it remained invisible under thin shirts or lighter-colored clothes, making it suitable for any top or outfit.
Size Range: XS–XL (30–38, A–D) | Materials: 79% modal, 21% elastane | Return Policy: 30-day return period

Top Choice for Backless Styles
Gatherall Bralette
The bra has enough stickiness to stay in place on the breasts, but it's not so sticky that removing it is painful.
Moisture can build up inside the cups on hotter days.
Sick of uncomfortable straps and bulky bands messing up your outfit? It’s time to try a secure, reliable backless bra. Our top pick during testing was the Gatherall Bra, which gave us the look of a classic strapless bra from the front while staying completely hidden under all our favorite backless dresses and tops. Unlike many other backless bras that lose their stickiness or slide down, the Gatherall Bra held its own, maintaining both its shape and adhesive power even after multiple washes and wearings. It stayed put, even when we worked up a sweat, though we did notice some moisture collecting inside the cups on warmer days.
Although this bra isn’t padded, it provides enough thickness for support without feeling bulky. The adhesive is just the right amount of strong—not so much that it becomes uncomfortable to remove, but strong enough to keep the bra in place. One of our favorite features is that you can wash the entire bra, including the sticky part, with soap and water. Keep in mind that the bra doesn’t cover your entire breast, so side spillage can be a factor. But if you’re searching for a supportive backless bra that actually stays up, the Gatherall Bra is definitely your best bet.

Top Strapless Option
Aerie Real Sunnie Strapless Bra Design
This versatile, full-coverage strapless bra offers excellent support and remains secure all day long.
It may be visible when wearing low-cut necklines.
The Aerie Real Sunnie Strapless Lightly Lined Bra offers the perfect combination of coverage and support without the discomfort of a tight band or poking underwire that can often be found in other strapless bras. Whether we wore it dancing through the night or during a full workday, this bra stayed in place securely without causing any discomfort.
With soft, lightly padded cups and comfortable underwire that provides full coverage and support, this bra is ideal for both small and larger chests. Since it’s a strapless design, it features a wider band with a non-slip lining to make up for the lack of straps, though it also includes removable straps for added versatility. We appreciated the fabric made from recycled nylon and polyester, which has moisture-wicking properties perfect for warmer weather.
Size Range: 30–40, A–DD | Materials: 66% recycled nylon, 34% spandex | Return Policy: No time limit
Top Unlined Choice
Negative Sieve Demi Bra
This mesh design provides plenty of coverage underneath clothes without causing any discomfort or itching.
It’s offered in only four basic colors.
After trying Negative Underwear’s Sieve Demi Bra for the first time, we were hooked. It fits like a second skin, and its lightweight feel makes it so comfortable that we occasionally forget we’re even wearing it. This bra is unlined and unpadded, offering a natural shape while still providing ample support. The cups are perfectly proportioned, the straps are simple to adjust, and the underwire gives just the right amount of support without causing discomfort or digging into the skin.
Mesh typically has a reputation for being uncomfortable, but this unlined bra is incredibly comfy. It’s also virtually invisible beneath clothing. We tested it with multiple tops, and it blended seamlessly under each one. This was surprising given that mesh is see-through, but it still managed to conceal everything under clothes. In fact, it provides better nipple coverage than some of our non-mesh favorites. The only downside is the limited color range, especially the lack of more nude shades. Even if you’re hesitant about mesh bras offering comfort and support, this one is worth a try.
Available Sizes: 32–40, A–G | Fabric Composition: 74% polyamide, 26% elastane | Return Policy: 30 days
Ideal for Full Coverage
Soma Intimates Perfect Coverage Bra
This bra provides full coverage without being bulky or uncomfortable.
It would be better if the fabric didn’t pill or cling to clothing.
If you’re a fan of full-coverage bras, Soma’s Embraceable Perfect Coverage Bra should become your go-to option. It delivers full coverage without the excess fabric or added bulk, offering a fit that is exactly what you’d expect from a full-coverage style. The lightly padded cups provide a secure, reliable fit, and the thick band gives both support and ease of adjustment. The underwire lifts without causing discomfort. After following the size chart, we found the fit to be spot on—no spillage or gaping, and it kept its shape even after several washes and wears.
What we appreciate most about this bra is how comfortable it feels. While many bras are rigid and sturdy, this one is soft and stretchy to the point where it almost feels like you’re not wearing anything. Although the fabric did pill a little after washing and occasionally stuck to some of our clothes (especially under tight tops), we considered these minor issues. The bra still performed its job well: providing ample coverage without feeling bulky or uncomfortable. Plus, it’s one of the most affordable bras we tested.
Available Sizes: 32–42, B–DDD | Fabric Composition: 81% nylon, 19% spandex | Return Policy: 60 days
Top T-Shirt Option
Lively The T-Shirt Bra
This T-shirt bra is highly adjustable, with straps that can be converted to a racerback style.
In our experience, the cup sizing didn’t quite fit as expected.
This Lively bra is everything you want from a T-shirt bra—comfortable, supportive, and durable. It provides ample support and coverage, even keeping nursing pads hidden. Throughout testing, it consistently kept everything in place, holding up well to daily use. The lightly padded cups maintained their shape, and the fabric proved to be tough. However, we did observe some pilling in the center area over time.
What really stood out to us is how adjustable this bra is. It features an adjustable band and straps like many of our top picks, but what makes it unique is the front-adjustable wide-set straps, allowing you to fine-tune the fit while wearing it. Additionally, the bra has a built-in J hook that allows you to convert it into a racerback style, making it versatile for various tops.
Our experience with the fit of this bra was a bit inconsistent. Our 36DD tester felt the cups were slightly too small, which led to discomfort and was noticeable under tight clothing. However, our 32B tester had the opposite issue, where the cups were too large, and the underwire began to dig into their chest after a few hours. Despite these fit discrepancies, we still consider this T-shirt bra a great option, especially because of the front-adjusting convertible straps.
Available Sizes: 32–38, A–DDD | Fabric Composition: 85% nylon, 15% spandex | Return Policy: 30 days
Ideal for Small Busts
Pepper All You Bra
This bra is specifically created for smaller cup sizes.
The mesh exterior is visible under tight, smooth-fitting tops.
Pepper’s Classic All You Bra is designed with small busts (AA, A, and B cups) in mind, and it fits beautifully. Throughout our testing, it managed to avoid the common issues many small-chested shoppers face: no gapping cups, straps that stayed put, a band that never rode up, and a barely noticeable underwire that was surprisingly comfortable.
This everyday bra paired effortlessly with any outfit and was comfortable enough to wear for long periods. The inside is buttery-soft and cozy, while the exterior is lined with smooth but durable mesh. Though the mesh doesn’t snag easily, its texture did show under tight clothing. After three weeks of wear, the bra kept its shape, though the band showed some pilling around the edges after a wash. Despite this, its flawless fit and comfort made it one of our go-to favorites.
Available Sizes: 30–42, AA–B | Fabric Composition: 75% polyamide, 25% elastane | Return Policy: 30 days
Ideal for Large Busts
Thirdlove 24/7 Second Skin Bra
Provides ample coverage for larger busts and comes in distinctive half-cup sizes.
Lacks substantial padding.
ThirdLove’s 24/7 Second Skin Unlined Bra avoids excessive structure and padding, making it our favorite choice for a comfy bra for large busts. Its thick straps and full cups ensure great coverage, and during testing, we didn’t experience any spillage or overflow. The unlined design keeps it from feeling bulky compared to other full-coverage bras. Crafted from a thick nylon and spandex blend, it molds naturally to the chest, offering a barely-there sensation. While it doesn’t offer full nipple coverage under tighter clothes, it pairs effortlessly with various outfits.
This bra is incredibly comfortable. The soft, supportive band is easy to adjust, and the gentle straps stay in place without digging into the skin. The smooth cups feel luxurious and snug. Smaller cup sizes might find the underwire a bit uncomfortable, but for those with larger busts, it’s gentle and barely noticeable. The bra also comes in unique half-cup sizes, ranging from A ½ to E ½, with regular sizes up to H. Given its performance in our tests, we think the slightly higher price is well worth it.
Size Range: 32–44, A–H | Fabric Composition: 76% nylon, 24% spandex | Return Policy: 60 days
Ideal for Front Closure Design
Spanx Bra-llelujah Full Coverage Bra
This bra is incredibly easy to wear, slipping on and off effortlessly, and it remains completely smooth under clothes.
The band and straps are stretchy but lack adjustability.
Spanx’s Bra-llelujah! Lightly Lined Full-Coverage Bra offers both support and comfort. Its standout feature is the front closure, making it nearly invisible beneath clothing. With a thick band, wide straps, and full coverage cups, it delivers ample support. During our testing, the molded cups provided great nipple coverage and a nice lift, without any gaping or bulging—even for those between cup sizes. Despite all the support, this bra felt so natural and comfortable that we often forgot we were wearing it.
Thanks to the front-closure design of this bra, neither the band nor the straps can be adjusted. We initially had concerns about this, but it turned out to be a non-issue. The band is crafted from a hosiery-like material that stretches to fit perfectly, and the straps are equally flexible. Both components remain flat and do not slip or dig in. Even though the bra becomes more elastic with wear, it snaps back to its original shape after washing. This flexibility made the lack of adjustability worthwhile, allowing us to enjoy the easy-to-use front-close feature.
Size Range: 32–40, A–DD | Materials: 72% nylon, 28% elastane with a 100% cotton lining | Return Policy: 90 days

Best Skin Tone Range
Skims T-Shirt Bra
It comes in 12 nude shades, making it easy to find one that matches your skin tone.
It doesn’t run true to size and isn’t as comfortable for larger busts.
There’s a lot to love about the Skims Fits Everybody T-Shirt Bra. It comes in 12 nude shades, so it’s easy to find one that suits your skin tone. It also provides lots of coverage and support. We loved how wide and supportive the band is, and its lightly lined cups kept everything concealed. This bra is made of an incredibly soft material that looks good as new, even after intense scrubbing.
Though we liked a lot about this bra, we had some trouble with sizing. Our 36B tester found that this bra fit like a glove—no gaps, bulges, or spillover—but our 38D tester never found the right fit, despite trying a couple of different sizes, and had to take breaks from wearing this bra. We had no trouble adjusting the bra’s band, but we struggled to adjust the straps. Our conclusion? This bra’s inclusive color range makes shopping for a nude bra much easier—but finding the right size is key, and it might require some trial and error.

Final Thoughts
After three weeks of testing, Cuup’s The Scoop Micro Bra emerged as the standout choice. It strikes the perfect balance between comfort and support, and we especially appreciate its broad size options. Additionally, our editors suggest the Natori Understated Bra, which offers a barely-there sensation and a sleek look that's incredibly comfortable.
Our Evaluation Process
Over the course of three weeks, we tested several “comfortable” bras on a diverse range of body types. Each bra was tested by at least two individuals: one from the A–D cup range and another from the DD+ range. Upon receiving the bras, we first assessed their quality and fit. Throughout the testing phase, we wore these bras for a minimum of four hours a day and made sure to test them under different clothing to observe the shape they created.
During our testing process, we assessed the fit, support, comfort, adjustability, and overall quality of each bra. We also took precise measurements of the band length right after unboxing and once again after the initial wash to determine if the fabric had stretched or shrunk.
Expert Tips for Shopping for Comfortable Bras
Understanding Size and Fit
The first step in purchasing a comfortable bra is finding one that fits correctly. Luciani Sena advises, 'Look for a bra that fits you well—both looks and feels good.' Even a 'comfort bra' won't be comfortable if the fit is wrong.
When a bra fits properly, the band stays in place, the cups don’t gap, the underwire won’t irritate, and the straps won’t slip or dig in. 'Choosing a smaller band size can lead to uncomfortable back bulges, and opting for a smaller cup size will result in spilling over,' explains Foster.
Keep in mind that bra sizes can differ significantly between brands. When shopping for bras online, be sure to consult the size chart, try on the bras when they arrive, and return any that don’t fit. If you’re shopping in-store, ask a fitting expert to measure you, then try on bras in various sizes and styles.
Bra Types
There’s a wide variety of bra types available, such as wireless, T-shirt, full coverage, and more. You’ll likely find that certain styles feel more comfortable than others, so when shopping, experiment with different styles and stock up on what suits you best.
Experts recommend a T-shirt bra for daily wear (like this one from Lively), a plunge bra for low-cut necklines, and a strapless or convertible bra for sleeveless tops. If you’re into fitness, a sports bra might be a must. For those who prefer wireless bras that are comfortable all day, True & Co.’s Soft Form V-Neck Adjustable Strap Bra is an excellent choice—it's so comfortable, we could wear it from day to night without any discomfort.
The Importance of Support
Support is crucial, even when you’re after a comfortable bra. If your bra lacks adequate support, it could pull, sag, gap, or dig into your skin—and that’s a recipe for discomfort. Look for supportive features like thick bands, wide straps, padded or molded cups, and underwires when shopping.
You might assume underwire bras are less comfortable than wireless ones, but our testing revealed that this isn’t the case. Many of the most comfortable bras we tested feature flexible, barely-there underwires, such as the Aerie Smoothez Unlined Bra.
Other Comfortable Bras Worth Considering
Harper Wilde Base T-Shirt Bra: This T-shirt bra was incredibly soft, supportive, and nearly invisible under clothing. However, we did experience some issues with the band—one tester found it too tight, while another had irritation after wearing it.
Wacoal Basic Beauty Spacer Underwire T-Shirt Bra: This T-shirt bra checked off many boxes—it was comfortable, supportive, and looked great under clothes. It held up well even after several washes. Our only complaints? The bra’s tag caused irritation until we removed it, and the straps and band felt somewhat flimsy.
Common Questions You May Have
Which type of bra is the most comfortable?
A variety of bra styles can be comfortable as long as they fit properly. In our tests, the majority of the top picks were unlined bras, such as Cuup’s The Scoop Micro Bra, Aerie’s Smoothez Unlined Bra, and ThirdLove’s 24/7 Second Skin Unlined Bra. Unlined bras, as the name suggests, don't feature bulky padding or lining in the cups—just smooth fabric that feels like a second skin. This design offers light shaping and gentle support while remaining incredibly comfortable.
How many bras should be in your collection?
Bourne recommends owning at least three or four high-quality bras. Once you find one that fits perfectly, consider purchasing several versions of it. This way, you’ll always have a comfortable bra to wear, even when your favorite is in the wash. Additionally, you may want to invest in various styles for different occasions, such as a T-shirt bra, plunge bra, and strapless/convertible bra.
How can you determine if a bra provides adequate support?
Supportive bras typically feature thick bands, wide straps, and molded cups. However, Foster emphasizes that most of a bra’s support comes from the band, not the straps. To test how supportive your bra is, wear it and move around. Bourne recommends trying a few steps, saying, 'Walk back and forth for about 20 steps. Your breasts should stay in place without bouncing around.'
