Green, the color of lush grass and thriving plants, is bound to be popular as the warmer months arrive. After a few seasons of rich jewel tones, interior designer Kate Dawson says green is making a much-anticipated return.
Among her top picks are Benjamin Moore’s Imperial Gray, which she describes as a stunning gray-green blend, alongside the brand’s Raindance and Night Train paints.
If you're after a deeper green, HGTV star and interior designer Shay Holland suggests opting for subtle shades that work well with a variety of other colors. She points to Benjamin Moore’s Regent Green, describing it as a dark, nearly black tone.

BackdropShades of Peach
Dawson forecasts that Pantone’s Color of the Year, Peach Fuzz, will remain a favorite in the coming months. “It’s perfect for any interior design style! I’m noticing it more and more—not only in paint but also in rugs, artwork, and wallpaper! The peach trend is growing, even extending into deeper terracotta and persimmon shades.”
Sherwin-Williams SW 6344 Peach Fuzz offers a stunning take on Pantone’s color of the year. For those who prefer a more pinkish tone than orange, Backdrop's 36 Hours In Marrakesh is a gorgeous, deep alternative.
Not sure how to bring peach into your home? The designer suggests pairing it with a muted gray-green shade (like the one above!). “It’s an incredible combination. You’ll definitely see this perfect match everywhere this summer!”

Sherwin-WilliamsShades of Blue
If you're spending time by the beach or lounging by the pool, blues might capture your heart this summer. Holland shares, “Like a relaxing seaside getaway, mid-tone blues such as Sherwin-Williams Stardew bring a sense of peace and calm. Deeper blues, like Benjamin Moore’s Blue Nova, beautifully combine modern and traditional elements while keeping a serene ambiance.”
On the flip side, interior designer Amy Switzer recommends Sherwin-Williams' Upward SW 6239, the Color of the Year for 2024, a soothing blue perfect for summer. “Bright, vibrant shades, which we’ll see all year long, add energy and personality to a room, especially when used as accent colors or in smaller doses.”
If you’re seeking a neutral that works year-round, Switzer advises choosing a rich, moody color like navy blue, such as Sherwin-Williams’ Gale Force SW 7605, which pairs beautifully with warm white tones.

Dark tones have been trending for some time, and they show no sign of fading as the weather warms. Holland notes that Portola’s Roman clay paint is perfect for adding texture and sophistication to walls. She particularly loves the rich brown shade known as Jacket.
Switzer predicts that warm brown tones will be dominant in the coming months, including Sherwin-Williams’ Antiquarian Brown SW 0045. Another of her favorites is Sherwin-Williams’ Raisin SW 7630. “A lot of my clients are drawn to these darker shades, and they immediately create a cozy, cocoon-like atmosphere.”
