Perfect for minimalists, the Oura Ring stands out as an excellent fitness tracker. It tracks your sleep, heart rate variability, skin temperature, and other metrics during the night, while its app provides daily insights into your recovery and readiness. Currently, the Gen 3 ring remains on sale, with all styles priced $50 to $100 below their usual rates.
During Cyber Monday, select sizes and styles were available at even steeper discounts, with prices dropping as low as $221 for a silver Heritage in size 10, for instance. While those exceptional deals have ended, the ongoing sale still offers substantial savings. The black and silver rings, typically priced at $299, are now available for $249. The gold and rose gold rings, usually costing $449, are now discounted to $349. Meanwhile, the "stealth" (matte black) and brushed titanium finishes are priced at $279, reduced from $349.
To help you grasp the value, here’s a detailed breakdown of Oura’s product lineup:
The gen 3 ring, launched in 2021, is offered in two styles: Horizon (smooth) and Heritage (featuring a flat top). It is available in whole sizes ranging from 6 to 13.
The gen 4 ring, introduced in 2024, has a single smooth design. It comes in a wider range of sizes, from whole sizes 4 to 15.
The inner surface of the newer ring lacks the sensor bumps present in the gen 3, and the company claims its sensors are marginally more precise. However, both rings offer nearly identical features. As a gen 3 user, I don’t feel any envy toward gen 4 owners.
Here’s what I’ve found for the Horizon style on Amazon:
Silver: $249 (originally $299)
Black: $249 (originally $299)
Brushed titanium: $279 (originally $349)
Gold: $349 (originally $449), except for one size 8 available at $331.75. Lucky you if you grab it.
Rose gold: $349 (originally $449)
Stealth (matte black): $279 (originally $349)
And for the Heritage style with the flat top:
Silver: $249 (originally $299)
Black: $249 (originally $299)
Brushed titanium: currently unavailable
Gold: $349 (originally $449)
Rose gold: out of stock
Stealth (matte black): $279 (originally $349)
Prices are subject to change, and certain styles may not be available in all sizes. These are older models, and Oura appears to be focused on clearing out existing inventory. The gen 4 Oura ring is not currently discounted (it wasn’t during Black Friday either). It costs $50 more than the standard gen 3 rings for each color: $349 for black and silver, $499 for gold and rose gold, and so on.
If you’re looking for a device to monitor both workouts and sleep, the Oura ring might not be the best choice. Consider a Garmin or Whoop band for comprehensive sleep data and activity tracking. I recently compared the Oura ring and the Whoop band, and the Whoop band came out on top, excelling in activity tracking and affordability. (Both Oura and Whoop require subscription fees; check the link for a detailed cost breakdown.) If you’re intrigued, note that Whoop is also offering a Cyber Monday deal.
That said, the Oura ring is an outstanding sleep tracker, ideal for pairing with a fitness watch or for focusing solely on health monitoring without activity tracking. If the $5.99/month subscription fee isn’t a concern, it’s worth considering.
