Does where you live affect your TV binge preferences? Geek.com explored this by surveying 1,500 individuals nationwide to identify the most beloved shows in each state. Here are their findings.

Unsurprisingly, Game of Thrones, accessible via HBO’s cable and streaming services, enjoys massive popularity. The fantasy drama, now in its eighth and final season, tops the binge-watching charts and is the favorite in eight states. Following closely is The Office (Netflix), with Ozark (Netflix), The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime), and Grace and Frankie (Netflix) completing the top five.

Comedies dominate binge-watching preferences, with 44.9% of participants naming it their favorite genre. However, states like Alaska, Hawaii, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Utah buck the trend, showing a stronger preference for dramas.
While popular series such as Friends, NCIS, and Stranger Things lead in many states, some regions have unique favorites. Utah loves the Hallmark series When Calls the Heart, Nevada favors the CW’s Supernatural, and North Dakota is drawn to the gritty action of The Punisher.
Although Game of Thrones currently reigns supreme, streaming platforms shouldn’t overlook the loyalty to network sitcoms. According to the survey, 19% would cancel Netflix if Friends were removed, and 14% would do the same if The Office were no longer available.
