The start of a new year is a perfect opportunity for enthusiasts like me. If you love the thrill of a new fitness journal, the excitement of ticking off each day's progress, or, let’s be honest, the nostalgia of filling bubbles with a number two pencil, this bubble calendar, shared annually by a kind Reddit user, will surely bring you joy.
Here’s the 2025 edition, available in two sizes, with the week starting either on Sunday or Monday, depending on what works best for you. This is posted each year by the user u/Propelissa, so be sure to visit their profile next January when you’re ready to fill out this year's calendar.
The two available sizes are 8.5"x 11", perfect for printing on a standard letter-sized American printer, and 8" x 10", ideal for submission as a photo to any photo printing service.
How to make the most of your bubble calendar.
In essence, it’s a simple sheet filled with circles, leaving you the freedom to use it however you wish. However, its design is inspired by a 2019 poster, released by Saucony and Fleet Feet, which encouraged filling a bubble every time you completed a run.
If you opt for the 8" x 10" version from a photo printing service, a Sharpie is ideal for marking the bubbles. But for those with access to a regular printer, using a trusty Ticonderoga pencil adds an old-school charm to the task.
I chose to track my cardio workouts with the bubble calendar last year. (Staying consistent with strength training is easy for me, but cardio is more challenging.) Each time I did a cardio workout like cycling, running, or anything else purposeful, I would fill in the bubble for that day. On walks, I simply marked an X in the bubble for partial credit. In the early months of the year, I focused mainly on power zone bike workouts; by summer and fall, running became my go-to workout.
How you choose to use the calendar is completely up to you. Track any type of activity you like. Use different colors to represent various workouts or durations. Or, you could use it to monitor other habits, like how often you floss your teeth, eat your vegetables, or go to bed on time. It’s yours to personalize as you wish.
