Shopping online has become the norm for most of us, though it comes with its trade-offs. We can’t physically handle items to verify if they match the description, which often leaves us relying on fake or bot-filled reviews. But if knowing where a product is made helps you assess its quality, you now have an answer, at least for Amazon: Cultivate is a free browser extension designed for Amazon shoppers that tells you where the product you’re considering was made.
The extension displays the manufacturer’s location in an additional box below the product price. For example, a Fossil leather wallet (the brand from Texas) indicates that the wallet was made in China.

I've been testing this extension for the past few days while working on my Black Friday deals write-up, and I’ve found it pretty handy. It even lets you know if you're getting the best price on the product you're looking at, or if it’s cheaper elsewhere, either on another website or at a nearby store. Plus, it automatically applies discount coupons for you.
That said, it’s not without its issues. When browsing on any site other than Amazon, the extension pops up an annoying window in the top right corner of the page, notifying you about available cash-back rewards. You can snooze this alert, but only for an hour at a time. If you mostly shop on Amazon (or don’t mind hitting snooze repeatedly), this might not be a dealbreaker for you.
