This Woman's Vibrantly Decorated Home is Taking the Internet by Storm, Offering the Perfect Escape from the 'All-White Everything' Trend We've Been Craving

If you're tired of minimalist styles and all-white spaces, get ready to be inspired. Meet 27-year-old Kaarin Joy — an interior designer, fiber artist, and nurse — whose colorful home is going viral online for completely defying the usual aesthetic.

Kaarin has amassed a following of over 2.4 million on TikTok and 483K on Instagram, showcasing her and her husband's home, along with behind-the-scenes glimpses of the design process. Before she became a viral sensation for her bold, colorful design approach, she initially shared sewing content online, a hobby she started while working as a night-shift nurse. "I loved the sense of community I found. That slowly grew into sharing more of my crochet creations, art, and design, and eventually I developed a passion for vibrant decor!" she told Mytour.

Millions now tune in to watch her home decor content, and it’s easy to see why: Entering her home feels like stepping into an art gallery. During a recent house tour, Kaarin gave a glimpse of her vibrant space, featuring everything from colorful wall art to furniture inspired by food.

Some of the standout features in her home are her DIY creations, such as a crayon-shaped chandelier in the entryway — which, yes, Kaarin and her father made themselves, and she shared the process on TikTok.

Other amazing DIY creations in her home include this oversized ice cream sandwich bench, which cleverly doubles as a storage space.

When describing her style, Kaarin nails it perfectly: "Definitely colorful. Joyful and bright. I love things that are a little quirky and a bit unconventional. Nothing is off-limits in my home, and I simply try to create whatever makes me smile every day."

"A lot of my home decor is inspired by things that are unexpectedly oversized," she shared. "I love big art pieces that are life-sized. For example, in my bathroom, I have a massive toothbrush hanging on the wall simply because I thought it would be fun to have a toothbrush as big as me to look at every day!"

Kaarin finds a lot of inspiration in food. "I’ve created a breakfast nook in my home with seating designed to look like different fruits. I just adore food-inspired decor, and I think it’s so charming!"

And yes, those chairs include designs inspired by a lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange, and strawberries. 🤩

According to Kaarin, her projects can take anywhere from a few days to weeks to complete. In the second part of her house tour, she revealed that this chandelier was one of her most "tedious" projects, but the effort was well worth it; the results are breathtaking.

Speaking of food, there's also a CEREAL WALL in the kitchen, showcasing Froot Loops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, and more.

There is also a hint of neutral tones in the home, as showcased in the primary bedroom.

And of course, there are still quirky pieces like hand-shaped chairs, an Oreo side table, and a TV framed in moss.

"I'm incredibly grateful to be doing what I love and have it embraced by so many," she shared with Mytour. "Connecting with others about art and design has been amazing, and this journey has allowed me to do just that."

Kaarin has received incredible support from her family and friends, especially her husband. "He’s always encouraged me to pursue my dreams, and there was never anything off-limits. He’s always made me feel like I can do anything, and I’m so thankful for that," she said. "I’m really lucky to have a husband who lets me decorate our home in such loud and colorful ways! I know not every partner is on board with that kind of freedom."

As you can imagine, creating such a personalized space requires a lot of time and effort, but Kaarin has some helpful tips for anyone wanting to make their home their own. For example, she suggests learning to do certain tasks yourself to save money. "Paying someone to do things like painting or installing fixtures can really add up... If there’s something I don’t know how to do, I try to learn it so I can keep that skill for future projects."

Ultimately, she hopes to inspire others to step outside the norm and design a home that brings them joy. "Find the vibe that lifts you up and sparks your creativity, and go with that! Take a risk, do something unexpected and a little unconventional," she advised. "Let your imagination run wild and bring those ideas in your mind to life."
