1. Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe's lifeless body was discovered by her housekeeper on August 5, 1962. Her death was attributed to an overdose of sleeping pills. However, questions linger about the details and timing of housekeeper Eunice Murray’s finding of Monroe’s body. There are also conspiracy theories that involve John and Robert Kennedy. The official determination was a 'probable suicide.'

2. John F. Kennedy

President Kennedy was tragically assassinated in Dallas, Texas, at 12:30 PM Central Standard Time on November 22, 1963, during a political tour of the state. He was officially declared dead at 1:00 PM. Lee Harvey Oswald was apprehended around 80 minutes after the shooting at a nearby theater, initially charged with the murder of Dallas police officer J.D. Tippit, and later with Kennedy’s assassination.
3. Pol Pot

On the night of April 15, 1998, the Voice of America, a station Pol Pot frequently listened to, reported that the Khmer Rouge had agreed to surrender him to an international tribunal. His wife later revealed that he passed away in his bed that same night while awaiting transfer. Ta Mok suggested that heart failure was the cause of death.
4. Che Guevara

After being captured in Bolivia, Guevara was taken to a dilapidated schoolhouse in the nearby village of La Higuera, where he was held overnight. The following afternoon, he was executed. The task fell to Mario Terán, a Sergeant in the Bolivian army, who was chosen after a lottery determined who would have the grim honor of killing Guevara.
5. Benito Mussolini

On April 28, Mussolini and his mistress were executed by gunfire, along with most of the members of their fifteen-person train, including several ministers and officials of the Italian Social Republic. The executions occurred in the small village of Giulino di Mezzegra.

6. Nicolae Ceausescu

On December 25, Ceausescu and his wife were sentenced to death by a military tribunal on charges ranging from the illegal accumulation of wealth to genocide. They were executed in Târgoviște, Romania. Before his death, Ceausescu sang part of “The Internationale” and boldly claimed that history would vindicate him. Meanwhile, his wife was heard screaming at everyone to 'go to hell.'
7. Mao Tse-Tung

Mao Tse-Tung, a Chinese military and political figure, led the Communist Party of China (CPC) to defeat the Kuomintang (KMT) in the Chinese Civil War. He served as the leader of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) from its founding in 1949 until his death in 1976. Under his reign, China endured the Cultural Revolution, a power struggle within the Communist Party that spiraled into widespread social, political, and economic turmoil, ultimately pushing the nation to the brink of civil war. Estimates suggest up to 500,000 deaths resulted from Mao’s policies.
8. Saddam Hussein

On December 30, 2006, the first day of Eid ul-Adha, Saddam Hussein was hanged, despite his request for a shooting, which he believed would be more dignified. The execution occurred at “Camp Justice,” an Iraqi army base in Kadhimiya, a district in northeast Baghdad. A mobile phone video of the hanging surfaced, showing Saddam being taunted before his death. The footage was leaked to the media, sparking widespread controversy around the world.
9. Vladimir Lenin

Lenin passed away on January 21, 1924, at the age of 53. Shortly after his death, rumors surfaced suggesting he had syphilis. The official cause cited for his demise was cerebral arteriosclerosis, attributed to a fourth stroke. However, only eight out of the 27 doctors who treated him supported this conclusion in his autopsy report, leading to various other theories regarding his death.
10. Hermann Goering

Hermann Goering, the second-in-command of Nazi Germany, was convicted on four charges: conspiracy to wage war, crimes against peace, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. With no mitigating circumstances, he was sentenced to death by hanging. He requested to be executed by firing squad, but his request was denied. On October 15, 1946, two hours before his scheduled execution, Goering took his own life in his Nuremberg cell, ingesting a poison capsule he had managed to conceal during his imprisonment.
