Whether you’re embarking on a full kitchen renovation or just looking to update the space, a new coat of paint can make all the difference. While painting is an affordable upgrade, picking the wrong color can be expensive—so it’s crucial to make the right choice.
Not sure where to begin? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. These are the kitchen paint colors interior designers predict will be the most popular in 2025.
Green
Green is expected to dominate this year’s paint trends, with designers loving its versatility in countless shades. "Green is timeless and here to stay—no matter the shade," says Amber Guyton, interior designer at Blessed Little Bungalow. "I adore Clare's Current Mood—the shade of my own kitchen cabinets—darker greens like Sherwin-Williams' Hunt Club and Country Squire, and even vibrant options like Behr's Salamander and Citrus Peel. The energy greens bring to any space, especially kitchens, is undeniable."
Shauna Jones from Shauna Glenn Design shares her excitement about using rich, forest hues in the coming year. "Colors like Arugula from Sherwin Williams and Sweet Basil from Benjamin Moore are my top picks for that deep, lush green look," she says.
Jones also mentions that earthy greens will be popular in 2025. "Shades like Houseplant from Sherwin Williams and Courtyard Green from Benjamin Moore are more olive-toned, giving off a subdued yet natural vibe, making them strong contenders for the earthy aesthetic."
Interior designer Becky Shea believes greens will be a key choice for kitchen colors in 2025, ranging from deep, grounding tones to lighter, more airy shades. "Greens provide a warm, earthy feel while adding an energizing vibrancy that’s both fresh and welcoming," she explains.
Earth Tones
Interior designer Linette Dai predicts that earthy neutrals and warm browns—like Pantone's color of the year Mocha Mousse, creamy beiges, and rich chocolate tones—will be trending in the near future. "Nature-inspired colors continue to be in high demand, but we're seeing a shift towards deeper and more luxurious shades compared to previous years," she shares. "These hues will shine on everything from walls to cabinetry."
Jewel Tones
Jewel-toned paints have been popular for a while, and Dai believes this trend is here to stay. "Deep jewel shades like ruby, aubergine, and sapphire—paired with weathered metals—bring a touch of elegance and drama that we’re really enjoying," she says. "Burgundy was the star in 2024, but we’re ready for a fresh, bold look."
Jewel tones are especially striking on cabinetry. If you prefer lighter walls, updating your cabinetry with these bold, luxurious shades is a great way to introduce jewel tones into your kitchen.
Purples
Though it might catch some by surprise, Dai predicts that shades of lavender and purple will be a hit in kitchens. "Benjamin Moore's color of the year Cinnamon Slate is a stunning blend of lavender with a brown undertone, giving it a neutral yet captivating feel," she says. "Deep eggplant purples also make a statement in kitchens, especially if you want something distinct from what everyone else has."
If you love purple but aren’t sure it’s the right fit for your entire kitchen, consider adding a unique touch by painting your moldings purple for a designer-inspired look.
Blues
Shea notes that blue is a versatile, timeless color full of character—perfect for revitalizing your kitchen. "For blues, I see a range of shades becoming popular—from deep, moody navy tones that offer sophistication to softer, serene shades like Silver Lake by Benjamin Moore," she says. "These tones provide a calming atmosphere while still feeling fresh and modern."
The designer believes that while blue will continue to be popular, its timeless appeal ensures it won’t be a fleeting trend. "I think this color family will have a lasting influence because it provides a bold alternative to the traditional all-white kitchen," Shea explains. "It’s sultry, energizing, and brings depth and character to any space."
