Uber has expanded beyond just ride-hailing with offerings like Uber Eats and Uber Connect, the latter allowing users to hire a driver to transport anything from documents to gifts around town. Now, you can also use Uber to handle your online returns by collecting your parcels and delivering them to UPS, FedEx, or a local post office, saving you time and the hassle of returning packages yourself.
How to use Uber for returning packages
To return a package via Uber, open the app, go to the Services tab, and select Package. Tap on Return a package, then choose your preferred carrier. The app will show you the nearest drop-off locations that are open for at least another hour, so you can easily complete the return process.
On the following page, review your details and tap Choose Return a package. You will need to confirm key details like the pick-up location and shipping option. Afterward, tap Confirm delivery to finalize your booking. Once your package is picked up, you can track its status, and your driver will share a photo upon drop-off confirmation.
The flat fee for package returns is $5 for up to five packages, or $3 if you're an Uber One member. Eligible packages must weigh 30 pounds or less and be valued at $100 or under.
