Lymphatic drainage massages are a lifesaver for relieving swollen and sore muscles—but what if you could experience those same benefits with a onesie?
Heat Healer—the brand Kim Kardashian endorses for its Infrared Body Belt—has introduced the Activated Lymphatic Onesie, claiming to offer the same advantages as a professional lymphatic drainage massage. This $200 onesie is said to deliver a 60-minute massage (which can cost over $250 per session) in a wearable form that you can use repeatedly.

If you're unfamiliar with lymphatic drainage massages, they are a game-changer for people dealing with inflammation, whether it's caused by allergies or an intense workout. These massages offer a variety of benefits, such as reducing swelling and inflammation, boosting immune function, relieving stress, and even promoting better sleep—so it's hard to believe that a piece of clothing could provide similar health benefits.
Wondering if this all-in-one product can really match up to the benefits of a professional massage, we decided to put it to the test.
Why Is Lymphatic Drainage Important?
Taking care of your lymphatic system is essential for many reasons. 'The lymphatic system is responsible for delivering nutrients to the cells and removing waste, making it a crucial component of the immune system,' shares celebrity esthetician Joanna Vargas.
'A well-functioning immune system results in healthier skin, quicker healing of acne, and better regulation of water retention. The puffiness we notice in our faces and bodies is also controlled by the immune system,' explains Vargas.
How Does It Work?
Lymphatic drainage massages utilize a technique that promotes the movement of lymph fluids throughout the body, helping reduce swelling in tissues. This onesie applies the same principle but features a unique, patent-pending design that incorporates Heat Healer’s Antigravity Tech and temperature-regulating infrared yarn to prevent excessive sweating.
'The temperature-regulating infrared yarn has been clinically proven to boost blood flow and oxygenation, which is key for effective lymphatic drainage,' says Lauren Dovey, CEO of HeatHealer. 'The nano-pattern pressure and graduated compression work in tandem to direct fluid towards your lymph nodes, gently stimulating the lymphatic system and promoting fluid movement.' Essentially, it’s like giving your lymphatic system a gentle nudge in the right direction.
The website recommends wearing the product for one to six hours per day for a full 30 days to see the best results. It's designed to be worn underneath your clothes, similar to Spanx—but with the added benefit of promoting better health.
Vargas points out that a lymphatic drainage garment is effective for stimulating a healthy lymphatic system thanks to its compression elements. When worn regularly, it can provide similar benefits, but she cautions that what you consume is just as important as what you wear. In other words, eating plenty of green vegetables and staying hydrated will enhance the results of the garment.
How Does It Feel?
Let me set the stage. It’s the middle of summer, and I’ve just returned to my city apartment after a weekend of sunbathing, indulging in pizza, and consuming everything but water. It seemed like the perfect time for some de-puffing.
On Monday morning before work, I lit some candles and slipped into my new Activated Lymphatic Onesie—just as tricky to put on as my Spanx or Skims. After some maneuvering to fit into the tight fabric, the garment settled into place, and the fit was incredibly comfortable, providing a slight suction effect that gave me a slimming feeling—an unexpected but welcome bonus.
Almost instantly, I felt a tingling sensation around my hips and stomach, which seemed like a clear sign the product was working. Thankfully, I had spoken with Dovey before trying the onesie, and she reassured me that I’d know the product was effective when 'the light zigzag impressions from the nano massage pressure-pattern and graduated compression disappear, signaling that your lymphatic system has been actively engaged.'
Within 10 to 15 minutes, I started feeling lighter and more energized. After 30 minutes, I felt relaxed and calm, even as my inbox flooded. Dovey explained this was due to Heat Healer's Antigravity Technology, which 'alleviates strain on your body and immediately pushes lymphatic fluid toward the lymph nodes.'
I wore the onesie for a few hours before switching to something lighter. While breathable, it was too hot in New York City to wear under my summer clothes, so I decided to take it off rather than keep it on. After removing the onesie, I noticed my skin felt softer and less puffy, which gave me a nice boost of confidence for the day ahead.
After a few days of testing, I genuinely felt my skin was smoother and less puffy. The most noticeable changes were in my thighs and the back of my legs. I also observed that I was sweating more at the gym and while walking around the city, which made me think my lymphatic system was engaged throughout the day, not just when I wore the onesie. In terms of fluid retention and inflammation, I felt noticeably slimmer and less bloated during the weeks I wore the garment. Overall, my body felt lighter and more energized.
Is It Worth Using It?
The quick answer is yes, without a doubt. For the cost of a single massage, the ability to use and reuse the onesie for the same benefits is a great choice for anyone on a budget. While it doesn't quite have the same 'just-left-the-spa' feeling, it did give me an energy boost (and I slept soundly, like never before).
The onesie is said to get more comfortable the longer you wear it (I can vouch for that!), and the health benefits continue over time. As Dovey points out, 'Its benefits increase with prolonged use. This means that unlike a one-time massage, the onesie offers ongoing support for your lymphatic system, making it an effective and convenient way to sustain lymphatic health in the long run.'
Since it easily fits into my daily routine, I can certainly see myself using this product over and over again. Wearable wellness? Count me in!
