Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a solid DIY home upgrade — but when it comes to those quick (and often budget-friendly!) tasks that most homeowners or renters can tackle on their own, some are definitely more successful than others. Honestly, there are a few I'd love to see vanish forever.

In 2024, finding any DIY project you can complete over the weekend with minimal hassle has never been simpler. It’s a bit of a double-edged sword, in my opinion; great for those who pick the right DIY project that truly enhances their space, but not so great for those who accidentally destroy their kitchen or bathroom based on terrible advice from online sources.
Alright homeowners and renters, I want to hear about the "popular" DIY projects you wish would vanish — all for the sake of your social media feeds (and the poor souls who attempt them in the first place).
Maybe you're completely over the peel-and-stick tile trend. Sure, it looks stunning on an Instagram post, but in reality, it feels more like "plastic-and-a-prayer."

Also in the kitchen, perhaps you hope you’ll never see another painted wood cabinet again. They might look chic for a few months...until the paint starts peeling and chipping off at every turn.

Perhaps your DIY home decor annoyance is whitewashed or white-painted brick. Some claim it's a simple fix to brighten up old brick walls and fireplaces, but you believe it's just a fast track to ruining perfectly good stone features.
