As the seasons shift, it's the perfect time to transition from light summer novels to cozy fall reads, and Emma Roberts knows just how to make the change. The actress spent part of her summer traveling across Europe, attending the summer Olympics, and teaming up with Trainline to share a curated selection of her favorite books for train journeys. 'This project was a dream, combining my love for both travel and reading,' she shares. 'Nothing compares to immersing yourself in a great story, especially when you're traveling by train—it feels so magical.'
While on her travels, Roberts ensures she adds a few book-related stops to her journey. 'Wherever I go, I always make time to visit a local bookstore to find my next book,' she explains. 'Some of my favorite spots include John Sandoe in London, OFR Bookshop in Paris, La Bola in Barcelona, and Prospero’s Books in Milan.' Read on to discover more about Roberts’ European trip, her reasons for always carrying a book, and her top choices for the perfect autumn read.
Why Emma Roberts Always Packs a Book for Her Travels
Reading has been a part of Roberts' life for as long as she can remember. 'I was homeschooled during high school because of my travels for work,' she recalls. 'The habit of always having a book with me has stayed with me ever since.' As her love for books blossomed into adulthood, Roberts co-founded an online book club in 2017 with her best friend, Karah Preiss, called BELLETRIST. The club has spotlighted over 75 books on social media and even created two TV series. 'Even today, one of the first things Karah and I do when we reunite is talk about our latest reads and share book recommendations,' Roberts shares.
