A fresh guessing game has emerged, adopting a similar format but focusing on global geography. Known as Worldle (yes, the name is intentional), it presents a country's silhouette and allows six tries to correctly identify it. As you type, a dropdown menu assists in ensuring accurate spelling of country names.
Once you submit a guess, Worldle provides three key details: the distance in kilometers from the correct country, the directional relationship between your guess and the actual answer, and a percentage indicating how close your guess was. Achieving 100 percent means you've correctly identified the country.
Distances in Worldle are calculated between the geographic centers of countries. For instance, despite sharing a border, the United States and Canada
The game is exclusively available online, with no app version, no advertisements, and completely free to play. You can bookmark the website or add it to your phone's home screen or browser. Since its launch on Jan. 24, 2022, its popularity has skyrocketed. By Feb. 13, over half a million people had played, prompting @teuteuf to upgrade servers to manage the surge in traffic. (As a daily player, I can confirm the transition was seamless.)

These guessing games are inspired by the classic Mastermind, though the idea dates back even further. The concept is versatile and can be applied to various subjects beyond words and countries. For example, Nerdle is for math enthusiasts, Squirdle for Pokémon fans, and Lewdle, a decidedly NSFW game for adults focused on risqué vocabulary.
