Remaining indoors is the fundamental principle of self-quarantine and maintaining social distance. However, after some time, you might feel a strong urge to step outside and be active. The good news is, if you can manage it independently, going for a run is perfectly acceptable.
Keep in mind, halting the spread of COVID-19 requires viewing yourself as part of a chain. You aim to avoid contracting the virus and ensure you don’t pass it on to others, especially if you’re unknowingly infected. Therefore, the recommended guidelines are to:
maintain a distance of six feet from others
avoid touching surfaces or objects that others have handled
If you tie up your sneakers and venture into the forest or jog through quiet streets, you’re in the clear. This is also an excellent opportunity to go cycling, take a stroll, or explore a hiking trail. Consider trying birdwatching for a change.
Avoid running in crowded areas or with large groups (many organized events like marathons are being canceled regardless), but if you simply want to enjoy a solo jog, go ahead and relish it.
