Mint, a top online budgeting platform, has just unveiled an exciting new feature. Now, you can check your credit score with no cost involved.
In a blog update about this new feature, Mint clarified that it is completely free and doesn't require any credit card details. You'll receive your score along with a comprehensive credit report summary that simplifies the details for easy understanding.
Your report is broken down into the following categories:
Credit card usage
Payment history
Credit age
Total number of accounts
Credit inquiries
Negative marks
They also provide an explanation for each category, show how it influences your score, and offer some helpful tips.
While pulling your credit can sometimes impact your score, Mint reassures us in this case:
Checking your credit score on Mint is considered a "soft pull" and won't affect your score in any way.
To access your free score, simply log into your account and click on the "Accounts" tab at the top. Under the "Financial" section, you’ll find an option to "Set Up Free Mint Credit Score." Alternatively, you can use this link.
