It’s been quite some time since we’ve published a 'Your View' article. These pieces typically explored controversial issues intended to generate discussion and expand our community.
Today, though, I’m sharing a new take on 'Your View'. The recent shifts in the online advertising industry (with even more changes expected soon) have made it increasingly difficult to sustain high-traffic websites purely through ad revenue.
Many major websites are shutting down due to a decline in ad revenue. While we’re not facing this immediate challenge, we remain aware of a future online world without advertising income.
One potential solution we’re exploring is a subscription-based model. For Mytour, we’re considering a structure where we continue to provide two daily lists accessible to all, while a third list would be available exclusively to subscribers (and potentially, a pay-per-view option for those who don’t want a recurring subscription but may occasionally want access to an extra list).
This is where your input comes in. Please share your thoughts by answering the following questions in the comments below:
1. Would you be willing to pay for a monthly subscription that gives you access to one extra list on Mytour each day?
2. How much would you be willing to pay for such a subscription? $5? $10? $20? More? Less?
3. If you’re not interested in a monthly subscription, would you consider a pay-per-view option where you pay a small fee to access just one article?
4. If you’re in favor of a pay-per-view model, how much would you be willing to pay per list? $1? $3? $5?
By subscribing, you'll also enjoy an ad-free browsing experience on the site.
Along with the benefits mentioned, we are open to offering an exciting monthly prize draw exclusively for subscribers, and we would love to hear your suggestions for other potential perks.
