
Snoozing alarms simply doesn’t align with how my brain functions. Whenever I’ve attempted it, my mind races with worries about missing the alarm or it failing to sound, leaving me anxious and sluggish upon waking. To counter this, I configure multiple alarms on my iPhone, ensuring I know precisely when each will activate. By default, iPhone alarms display a large Snooze button in the center and a smaller Stop button at the bottom. It’s far too tempting to tap Snooze when half-asleep, while the Stop button remains inconveniently tucked away.
This is why I always deactivate the Snooze button on my iPhone’s alarm clock and prefer having the Stop button displayed prominently when alarms ring. If this approach resonates with you, here’s how you can make the same adjustment.
Eliminate the Snooze Button from Your iPhone Alarms

To eliminate the Snooze button, launch the Clock app on your iPhone and navigate to the Alarms tab. Choose any alarm from the list and disable the Snooze option. The next time the alarm triggers, the Stop button will appear prominently in the center, and the Snooze button will be absent. This also applies when creating a new alarm: Simply turn off the default Snooze setting, and you’re good to go. (Keep in mind that Snooze is automatically enabled for each new alarm.)
This often-overlooked feature has been a game-changer for me: By removing Snooze, I can tap Stop right away, allowing me to either get up immediately or rest assured that another alarm is scheduled for later. Paired with a soothing alarm tone like By The Seaside, my iPhone alarms now gently rouse me instead of jolting me awake. Believe me, it’s a far more pleasant way to start the day.
