Recently, a prototype of the next-generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport was spotted on a test run. The vehicle was heavily camouflaged, but we could still notice its overall shape is similar to the current version. Of course, this upgrade will bring design tweaks, promising a more striking appearance.

The front of the vehicle features several design elements inspired by the latest Triton pickup, including a large grille and a similar LED daytime running light strip positioned above the headlights.

The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is expected to be built on the platform of the 6th-generation Triton, which has been available since 2023. The pickup offers engine options including a 2.4L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, a 2.4L 4-cylinder turbodiesel, and a 2.4L twin-turbo diesel engine. Output ranges from 148 horsepower to 201 horsepower, with a choice between a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

No images of the interior have been released yet. However, it's likely that the cabin of the new Pajero Sport will share many features with the Triton. Key updates are expected to include a new 9-inch infotainment screen and a variety of physical buttons and switches, similar to the Triton.
