1. Obsession with Appearance
Everyone has their own flaws in appearance, but for women, there is often an obsession with achieving an ideal body shape. Many constantly compare themselves to others and do whatever it takes to make changes. A survey has shown that 16% of women with a balanced, even underweight body, always feel they are overweight and need to follow stricter diets, while others wish to alter some part of their bodies. Such obsessions not only harm mental health but can also lead to severe physical consequences in the long run.

2. Emotional Eating
When people eat in a relaxed and happy state, it is generally good for health. However, studies have shown that men tend to increase their positive emotions when eating, while women often eat more when feeling sad. As a result, many women turn to food, especially sugary and high-calorie foods, to cope with emotional distress. Experts advise that instead of eating, women should find other activities such as exercising to distract themselves from sadness and emotional eating.

3. Chewing Thoroughly
It is important to note that food will be broken down more thoroughly when you chew well, aiding in better digestion. Instead of feeling full after eating four bowls of rice, if a person chews their food well, they can feel just as energized after only two or three bowls. Additionally, the nutrients in the food will be better absorbed, and the stomach will not have to work as hard.
Moreover, this practice can help reduce the amount of food consumed daily, saving money and decreasing the risk of obesity. A study has shown that eating while working or sitting in front of a TV or computer screen leads to overeating and increases the risk of obesity. Therefore, eating slowly allows you to control your intake and stay slimmer.

4. Excessive Headphone Use
Many of us have the habit of using headphones for hours, such as office workers listening to music or watching clips during most breaks, or young people blasting rock music at full volume. Some even wear headphones while traveling by bus or motorcycle. Some people even wear them before going to sleep. However, frequently using headphones at high volumes can have harmful effects on health, especially on hearing, which may not be immediately noticeable but could lead to hearing loss over several years.
It is recommended to limit headphone use to no more than one hour per day. If you must use them, the volume should not exceed 60-70 decibels. Experts also advise that we avoid listening at loud volumes, even when using external speakers.

5. Staying Up Late
It seems that many people, especially the younger generation, still do not fully understand the importance of maintaining a proper sleep routine. Ideally, sleep should start no later than 11 PM to allow the body to recover after a long day of work. Continuing to stay up late can lead to several health issues such as memory loss, dizziness, blurry vision, irritability, and most notably, it can harm your skin, especially your face.
According to the body’s natural biological clock, the period between midnight and 1 AM is when the body truly rests and regenerates, leaving you refreshed and your skin glowing when you wake up. Therefore, it’s important to get to bed 1 or 2 hours earlier, so you are deep in sleep during this restorative window.

6. Nail Biting
Nail biting is not just a habit seen in children, but also among many adults. In fact, many women tend to bite their nails as a reflex whenever they feel anxious about something. This results in damaged nails, often too close to the skin, which can become swollen, painful, and even lead to infections or finger deformities.
Moreover, nails harbor bacteria and parasitic eggs. Biting nails can therefore cause parasitic infections. Additionally, it can also damage your teeth and strain your jaw joints, which directly impacts your ability to chew and speak. To avoid this, make sure to regularly trim your nails, which will also remind you to refrain from ruining them.

7. Nose Picking
Many people believe that frequent nose picking is the best way to clean the nostrils or simply a habit when they have nothing to do. However, ENT specialists warn that nose picking not only creates hygiene problems but can also damage the nasal hairs, tear the mucous membrane, and cause bleeding. The mucous membrane inside the nose is very thin, soft, and contains many blood vessels.
Furthermore, germs from your fingers can be transferred into your nostrils, leading to chronic nasal infections, blocked nostrils, redness, and swelling of the nasal bridge that can persist for a long time.

8. Wearing High Heels Incorrectly
Due to the desire to enhance their appearance, high heels have become an essential item for women to improve their stature and posture, with more and more women choosing them to appear taller and more graceful in the eyes of others. However, studies have shown that wearing high heels regularly can alter the natural posture of the body, placing excessive pressure on the joints and leading to various health issues such as nerve damage, deformed toes, arthritis, back pain, sprains, and even accidents.
So how can women maintain their love for high heels while avoiding negative health impacts? It's recommended to wear heels no higher than 4 cm, as the higher the heel, the more it exacerbates health issues. Additionally, using insoles to reduce pressure on the feet can help mitigate the damage.

9. Sleeping with Makeup On
The harm of not removing makeup can affect both your appearance and health more than you think. First, makeup combined with oils and dirt can clog pores, leading to acne. Additionally, mascara and eyeshadow can cause eye irritation, leading to redness and even infection.
Furthermore, leaving makeup on overnight gives bacteria from the environment, like from your hands or phone, a chance to harm your skin. Remember, your skin needs to breathe at night in order to produce vitamins and minerals that keep it youthful and hydrated, preventing it from becoming dry or dull.

10. Wearing the Wrong Bra Size

Wearing the wrong bra size might not immediately affect your outward appearance, but it can lead to serious health risks. Surprisingly, a survey found that 70% of women wear bras that don’t fit properly.
Choosing an incorrect size can lead to issues such as breast cancer, infections, breast deformation, headaches, back pain, and shoulder discomfort. Therefore, it’s essential to avoid choosing a bra based on guesswork. Instead, have your chest measured accurately to ensure you pick a bra that fits you properly.
