It might sound like a weird topic, but let's face it – we all enjoy food and a good dose of the bizarre. This list brings both together perfectly. Perhaps these strange cakes will spark some creative ideas for your next big celebration. Click on any cake for a closer look.
10. Lung Cake

This is the rather unappealing (yet health-conscious) lung cake. It's brought to you by armory.com.
9. Dead Crow

This cake seems tailor-made for a roadkill-themed restaurant. What I find interesting is the subtle touch with the blood – just enough to signal that the bird isn’t peacefully resting (well, that and its clearly broken neck).
8. Decapitation Cake

This cake is perfect for those who work in a sawmill – it’s the decapitation cake. It was featured in a 'grossest cake' bake-off.
7. Kitty Litter Cake

I'm struggling to figure out when you’d actually want to make this cake – or for whom. It’s exactly what the name implies, a kitty litter cake. In my home, kitty litter is something we prefer to ignore, certainly not something to celebrate! You can find the recipe here.
6. Divorce Cake

This unique cake would fit perfectly at a divorce party or a mafia-style wedding. As always, it's the unlucky groom who bears the brunt of it.
5. Skull Cake

Staying true to the macabre theme of the previous two cakes, here’s an expertly crafted skull birthday cake.
4. Carrie Cake

This is one of my personal favorites, especially since I’m a huge fan of Stephen King's *Carrie* (the novel, later turned into a movie). The cake depicts Carrie in her prom dress, drenched in pig's blood. [Image Source]
3. Just Awful

The amount of work that went into this cake is truly impressive – it looks incredibly lifelike! You can view the full process here. It’s definitely worth taking a look.
2. Thorax Cake

I did warn you about the disturbing images in this list! This cake (and the next one) were both crafted by Barbara Jo. You can find the details of the creation here.
1. Zombie Cake

This cake is a masterpiece. Created by an exceptionally talented artist, you can learn all about her techniques (and see a wealth of pictures from the creation process) here. Here’s a brief excerpt: "I calculated that, between the cake, French creams, and bloody eyeball cordial cherries, I went through 15 pounds of granulated sugar, 2 bags of powdered sugar, 8 large bags of chocolate chips, 2 bottles of corn syrup, 8 pounds of dark chocolate, and 4 pounds of white chocolate. I may have a slight tendency to go overboard with these things. We have plenty of leftover eyeballs."
