It’s time to compare your personal thoughts on Trader Joe’s products with the collective opinions of its customers. For the last 14 years, the company has conducted surveys to discover which items are considered the best across various categories.
This year’s intriguing question asked, “If stranded on a deserted island, which nine Trader Joe’s products would you bring with you?” Over 18,000 responses were collected, and it turns out that many people would choose Trader Joe’s Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips. These chips not only topped the snack category but also claimed the first overall spot, beating out competitors like Organic Elote Corn Chip Dippers, Organic Corn Chip Dippers, and World’s Puffiest White Cheddar Corn Puffs. Other favorites included hashbrowns, chicken soup dumplings, chocolate croissants, and the beloved Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend.
Honeycrisp apples have garnered a loyal following among Trader Joe’s shoppers, ranking as a runner-up in the produce category, just behind bananas. Meanwhile, Sparkling Honeycrisp Apple Juice, a seasonal product, claimed the top spot in the beverage category, standing alone as the only seasonal winner.
Trader Joe’s Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice, crowned the best entrée of 2023, has come to the rescue for many who want a quick dinner without the hassle of cooking from scratch. Fans of Trader Joe’s will undoubtedly miss the iconic Mandarin Orange Chicken, which no longer graces the top five entrées list. Its absence isn’t due to fading popularity but because Trader Joe’s chose to retire it from the Customer Choice Awards entirely, giving other products their turn in the spotlight. As a result, this dish, along with other cherished staples, has earned a spot in the newly established Trader Joe’s Product Hall of Fame.
