Taco Bell, famous for its affordable Tex-Mex offerings, has built a reputation with popular items like the chalupa supreme, crunchwrap supreme, and cheesy gordita crunch. The fast-food chain is now branching out by introducing chicken nuggets to its lineup.
In early November, food blogger Markie_devo revealed the news on Instagram. The post highlighted that the new “crispy chicken nuggets” feature white meat marinated in a mild jalapeño buttermilk and encased in a tortilla-infused breading. A promotional image displayed the nuggets in a five-piece serving.
Taco Bell is offering the nuggets with three dipping options: jalapeño honey mustard, cheddar cheese sauce, and its signature “bell sauce.” Markie_devo describes the first as a blend of “sweet honey, spicy jalapeño, and tangy mustard,” while the bell sauce is noted for its “savory and tangy flavor with hints of chili peppers.” The cheddar cheese sauce, though not detailed, is self-explanatory in taste.
A fortunate group of customers has already had the chance to try the crispy nuggets. Tasting Table reported that the product was trialed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2023, followed by Houston, Texas, in early 2024. The test phase also included the introduction of the bell sauce and jalapeño spicy mustard sauce.
Currently, the pricing for the chicken nuggets remains undisclosed. They are slated for a limited-time launch starting December 19, 2024, with no confirmation on their availability duration. Even if they don’t stay permanently, there’s a possibility of their return. Taco Bell has a history of reintroducing discontinued items temporarily: earlier this year, the chain revived beloved products from past decades, and in 2022, it brought back the Mexican pizza due to popular demand.
