Exciting news for dessert lovers: Girl Scout cookie season is officially here! You can pick up your favorites—like Lemonades and Thin Mints—during the season, which runs from January to April, depending on your location. Over the years, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) have discontinued several cookie flavors, and Toast-Yay! and S‘mores will be joining the retired lineup after 2025.
S’mores cookies have been a fan favorite since 2017, combining graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate into a single cookie. There are two versions: one coated in chocolate and another with a plain graham cracker shell. Toast-Yay!, however, had a shorter run—only four years. Inspired by French toast, it featured a biscuit shaped like a slice of bread with a layer of icing on top.
While some fans might be disappointed, this move isn't entirely unexpected. A representative from Girl Scouts of the USA stated, 'We routinely review our cookie offerings to make room for exciting new innovations.' The discontinuation of Toast-Yay! and S‘mores could pave the way for something new and equally delicious. There’s no word yet on any new cookie releases for 2025 or beyond.
A few iconic Girl Scout cookies, like Thin Mints and Samoas, have withstood the test of time, remaining favorites through generations. While S’mores enjoyed a longer run than most, Toast-Yay! was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic and struggled to gain traction.
Both cookies are still available for purchase, but their availability at booths may be limited. You can check the online tracker to find local sellers, though keep in mind it doesn’t specify which cookies are in stock at each location.
