Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, bringing love and excitement with it. Whether you're eagerly anticipating it or feeling indifferent, people are flocking online to find the perfect Valentine’s Day-themed items. If you're looking to spoil yourself or a loved one this February 14, Google Trends has compiled data on the most uniquely searched heart-shaped products in the U.S.
The map below shows the most commonly Googled terms containing 'heart-shaped' between January 21 and January 28. Google Trends analysts defined ‘uniquely searched’ as terms that are significantly overrepresented in a state—those searched twice as often in a state compared to the national average.
Looking at the search patterns, it seems Valentine’s Day is a perfect excuse for many to get creative in the kitchen. Food-related items dominate the map, with 26 states searching for heart-shaped edibles in higher numbers than anything else. States like Texas, Idaho, and Florida showed a clear preference for sweet treats, searching for heart-shaped cakes, waffles, and marshmallows, respectively. Other states gravitated more toward savory options, with heart-shaped pasta topping search trends in Alaska, Delaware, and New Hampshire, while North Dakota users searched for heart-shaped pizza.
Ten states showed the most interest in heart-shaped home decor. Some searched for smaller decorative pieces like heart-shaped picture frames, while others were after larger items such as heart-shaped tubs, chairs, and end tables. Meanwhile, seven states—including Louisiana, Connecticut, and Illinois—leaned heavily toward heart-shaped fashion, with boots, earrings, and purses topping the list. Three states stood out for their unusual searches. Washington searched for heart-shaped lighters, Nevada sought heart-shaped bandages, and Wyoming was particularly interested in heart-shaped bubble wrap—none of which appeared in any other state’s top searches.
